Re: low temps due to main burner only lighting on one...

Pull and clean burner and pilot assembly and the fire area. Make sure exhaust area is clear. Burner may have debris clogging holes or inside of burner. It is ok to wash with water but dry before reinstalling. Jets may be clogged too. Using it the way it is now may cause flashback and may damage unit or operator. Good Luck. The pilot lite will light but the main burners wont The high temp light came on but the grease wasn't over temp. I discounted high temp senisor light is still on what do I do now

Most likely the high limit is defective. This can shut down both the pilot and main burners. You can try jumping the high temp sensor leads to see if this solves the problem, assuming it is a standard Robertshaw high limit. Do this only to test, however. Bypassing the high limit can be very dangerous if the thermostat is defective or the oil level is below the sensor bulb. If your high limit has more than two wires, you may need a wiring diagram to determine which leads to jump.

On a Royal mod.RFT-50 deep fryer, the pilot light lights but when I turn the temp knob to light the main burners i don't get the gas needed for lite up and the pilot goes almost out.

If you have a gas pressure regulator for the fryer, the leak limiter on it is probably clogged with grease. Replacements are available for a few dollars.

Our Imperia fryer pilot lights shuts of once the temp reaches 200 degrees

If both the main burner and pilot shut down at 200F, the high limit is bad. If only the main burners shut down, the thermostat is bad.

At 300F after half hour, pilot and main gas burner was going off. When re-lit would stay on only 5 minutes thereafter. Had the thermopile changed(bought locally- not original from Imperial but identical),...

Hi there.
The thermostat will only shut down burner flame but not pilot flame.
Try tightening all wiring connections.
By using an ohm meter, check the continuity across the hi limit terminals when the pilot goes off, your hi limit may be tripping prematurely causing pilot flame to shut down.

Pilot stays lit but when you turn on temp switch pilot gets very low and burners will not light

has orifice been changed? Is this a used fryer that may have previously operated on LP gas? If so, there will be insufficient volume of gas (Nat) to the burner. Also check supply pressure at unit. Make sure supply line isn't damaged or distorted in that it may restrict flow to fryer.

My pitco 35 c the flame is burning yellow and not going inside the very wall i thought it might be the regulator pressure on the fryer on the back side

Low gas pressure will produce low flame quality (yellow flame).
Check and remove any dirt or soot on burner holes, and orifice
Burner flame not going inside the fire tube could be due to soot or carbon build up inside the fire tube blocking the flame path, check the inside of the fire tube, if considerable amount of soot is seen, better have them removed.
Yellow flame will cause a lot of problem on fryers if not corrected as soon as possible.
If you have doubt on your gas regulator, better have a qualified service technician to check it.

When the whole unit shuts down including the pilot light the thermocouple is not working properly. The thermocouple is what tells the gas safety valve that the pilot light is lighted. When the thermocouple fails and does not send the milli-volt (mv) signal to the gas safety valve due a failure the gas safety valve turns off the gas supply. (i.e total shut down)
If you have a handyman around you can have him disconnect the thermocouple from the gas valve control and clean the mating area in the gas valve and on the bitter end of the thermocouple. After cleaning then reconnect the thermocouple. This sometimes corrects the problem. FYI you can get a thermocouple at most any large appliance parts supply. (You will need to the know total length) It would be even better to have the old one in hand during the trip to the parts store.

Thanks for using FixYa,

If your pilot lights up but the main burner doesn't light up then you have a bad pilot sensor or gas valve
