Re: compatible ink

I had this trouble with my CIS system, I took the cartridges out gave them 5 mins and put them back in they worked great.

I agree with davvo, have heard of compatibles that only work on certain models. I have bought a CIS and it has auto reset chips which are supposed to reset once they get to about 5% ink.
(CIS certainly has saved me a fortune in ink, if you do a lot of printing its worth investing in one).

Yes i have a epson rx560 i brought a contiouous ink system the thing you must watch out for when buying copy ink is that they work with all modles or rx560 as some ink will only work befor printer made before 1 march 2007 and some will only work after made 2007

but the continuous ink system will work wit all models i can get cis for £45 plus postage and come with 6 x 100 ml ink contact me if your intreasted

I bought ink cartriges from staples, put them in but it says , cannot recognise them?

Hello, In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. That sounds like your problem. Also in Purchasing the Brother's . Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, etc. All Generic Cartridges, will print lines thru the words, and also do a mix match with the colors. That's what the Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, but you have to fill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for the PRINTERS.

Since you do not mention what type of ink cartridges you purchases, this is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

Epson DX7450 won't recognise compatible cartridges

This is a common problem and is caused by faulty or missing chips onthe compatible cartridges. You will need to get them replaced otherwise the printer will not operate. Contact the vendor where you bought them from and ask for repalcements or a refund.

Compatible ink cartridges dx8400

Epson cartridges are microchipped.

Do your new cartridges carry the same chip?

If not, they will not work.

If all else fails, return them to the supplier and explain they are not recognised by your printer.

My epson r285 wont recognise compatable inks

My Epson R285 will not recognise compatible cartridges, mainly the black.I ran out of black ink and installed a compatible cartridge but it did not recognise it.To get the printer running I had to buy a genuine one which worked.I then ran out of all the other colours soon after and installed compatible ones which were accepted.I have now ran out of the black again but the printer will not accept the compatible cartridge. How can I solve this problem as the printer has accepted black compatibles before.
Thanks Padgy

Will not recognise all cartridges

some problems with compatible cartridges can be solved by taking all the ink out and powering the printer off then back on then put the ink back in, you might have to do this a few times also make sure no ink or dust has built up on the pins.

Printer says "Install ink cartridges correctly and then hit ok"

Try putting genuine ink it. If it still refuses to recognise the carts then it need to go back to Epson for a warranty repair. As an Epson eng 90% of the time, rubbish compatible cartridges are the source of such issues. They can even make the printer stop recognising genuine carts.

Do not mention to Epson that you used compatibles or they may refuse the warranty repair.
