if this is a new printer put some Epson cartges in it and send it back to the shop
I had this trouble with my CIS system, I took the cartridges out gave them 5 mins and put them back in they worked great.
I agree with davvo, have heard of compatibles that only work on certain models. I have bought a CIS and it has auto reset chips which are supposed to reset once they get to about 5% ink.
(CIS certainly has saved me a fortune in ink, if you do a lot of printing its worth investing in one).
Yes i have a epson rx560 i brought a contiouous ink system the thing you must watch out for when buying copy ink is that they work with all modles or rx560 as some ink will only work befor printer made before 1 march 2007 and some will only work after made 2007
but the continuous ink system will work wit all models i can get cis for £45 plus postage and come with 6 x 100 ml ink contact me if your intreasted

I bought epson ink from epson web site. The only ink thatdid not work was T0776. I kept getting does not recognise.
