You have to check the motor if good or bad! use the tester to know the motor if good or bad! or check also the belt drive!

My Retro all in one player ,has a cassette player that plays part of cassette and then cuts off, In other words it doesn't play all of the cassette. Can it be repair ?

this is all i could find out.
The tape could be wound too tightly or the adhesive is sticking to the tape layers. Also, clean the capstan and pinch roller on your deck before playing.also try cleaning the play heads.
or go to this link and see if you can find more info out.

When playing back a Hi8 video tape on my UC9 the tape stops after 15-20 minutes. What is going wrong? How can I fix it?

hi,
does that happens with all your tapes or for a specific one?
if for all:
the grease of the mechanism must have become hard with the dust and the time ! it is not easy to repair and i would recommend you to think about buying a second hand one on ebay for ex, because the repair will cost more than that !
if it is only with specific tapes, make them go fast forwards and fast rewind various times to re "flexibilise" the tape, because with time the turns of the plastic tape are a bit glued together, that can be used also when the recordings are really short clips, as when the motors goes and stop, it can make ridges on each side of the all tape (like waves) so FW and RW and it re rolls on a better way without interruption
cheers,
mich

My cd/cassette player keeps turning off after a couple minutes

I've got one and if there is too much tension on the tape while it is playing, the machine will stop playing to avoid tearing the tape of the cassette. Its not the cassette but the gears and motors of the player start to wear and age and there isn't anything that I know of to fix it. I will be super sad if that ever happens to mine. I've had it 28 years.

I have a sony walkman WM-3. It suddenly stopped playing. Do you do repairs ?

Please check for the belts if the battery you have installed is new and the set gives a hum on play. If not you will have to check the power switch, the mechanism switch and the line to the main board.
If the motor turns but not the capstan and the reel then change the belt, the rollers or the pulley. I hope this will get your set back to action. Good day

My video recorder won't let me insert a cassette. This happened quite suddenly. One day it was ok and the next it just refused to let the cassette in all the way

VCR's are complicated mechanical buggers relatvie to even a DVD player. There's a multitude different little plastic pieces, drive gears, etc. than can break or wear out over time to make the mechansim stop working.

15 Years ago VCR repair places did good business fixing them. These days no one bothers fixing VCR's so the ones that do exist, charge a ridiculous rate.

You will save yourself money and grief if you buy a VCR on eBay for ~$10.
