My mike is not working on my headset, and it's brand new

how to plug it in? (add?) how to make it work,? and use it?
what head set.? the Phillips model.
USB, or the 2 mini plug type, (2 plugs , 1=head phones, 1= mike)
What is the Phillips part number there.

head sets come in 3 class types.
1: wired. 2,miniplugs
2: USB ( has built in sound chips)
3: bluetooth or with USB to add blue tooth.

That's frustrating, isn't it?

Make sure it is connected to the correct plug in the computer. If affirmative, please check if the cord of your headset has a volume control/switch.
Make sure the embedded microphone for your computer is working (if your PC has one). In case it is not working, go to the Control Panel and select the Sound tab. Test the microphone there (there is a recording and listening buttons to check it). So, make sure the sound / mike drives are working correctly.
If only the headset doesn't work I would put the volume control or the cable pin connector under suspicion.
If you are "engineer minded" I would open the volume control plastic housing (normally there is a small screw on it - sometimes under a label), and use a multi tester to check if there is continuity between the sound control and the pin connectors. If everything is OK there, I would put the other end of the cable (that goes to the headset) under suspicion.

I am assuming this is not a brand new headset. If it is, I would take it back to the store and replace it.

Something you want to try is perform a system reset: While plugging in the AC charger, hold the power/pair button. The headphones should show a solid red or blue light when they have been successfully reset. If it's still giving you problems, contact Plantronics at 800-544-4660 x5 x5538 for warranty service.

If you are running Vista, make sure that you set your mic as the default. Then check on vent settings and make sure that your output setting are set for your head set. You can then test your headset inside of the settings tab.

You don't need a driver for headset. Just plug it in your computer then it will already work.

I recommend just going to get a Logitech USB Hedset at wal-mart, but it will set you back 30 bucks. I have Socom 3 and Socom Combined assualt, it works on both without having to use a setup disc, just plugin and play!

hi only if you have some experience on how to add a mic in fact is a electret mike and are very cheap you joust cut one wire to hook the mic and thats set.....as you do this take a especial attention on which wire be the mic and the ear.......so you connect right..................saludos

does it have 2 plugs one for mic and headset or sterio plug for mono head set mono mic u would need input on phone that can accept that kinda sterio input ok for both
