The easiest way to get it out would be to use a couple of long sewing needles and put them in the jack on either side applying a little pressure (Not to much or you'll have broken needles in there too1) like chopsticks try and pull it out. Make sure you do this with the power off. If you want to salvage the headphones the connector will need replacing, they can be bought at most electronic stores. It's a 3.5mm headphone jack that your after. They can give you instructions for fitting at the shop, it varies depending on the connector.

Pioneer VSX-456 headphone jack problem

No the headphone jack doesn't disable the speakers. There are two switches in the lower middle of the receiver that are labeled speaker A and B. Pushing one of these should disconnect the speakers from the receiver.

What is the headphone jack size of the fender sp-10 10 watt amp

Call your local stereo store. These items are very standardized.

There are 2 standard sizes for headphones. the one for PCs and phones is the smaller size. An amp or receiver probably take the next size up. If you screw up and get the wrong size someone like Radio Shack or the like will have an adapter that sells for a buck or 2.

I want to connect my amp to my pc

use a mini adapter to a large one.(3.5 to 1/4) or mini headphone jack to 1/4 headphone jack.plug a male3.5 into your outgoing headphone jack or from the pc convert the other end of that cord to get you to the proper size or 1/4 head phone jack.the primary cord from the pc needs to be a male to female cord.they make adapters that will get you the rest of the way.3.5 mini male to 1/4 phono female.then you plug your amp in to the 1/4 female.wala

Why do I only hear static

Hi Cathy.. it sounds like you might be connected to the wrong jacks instead of the output that the headphones need.

Most high quality stereo headphones have a single 1/4" stereo plug that would readily plug into a 1/4" jack on the front of the stereo labeled "PHONES" or HEADPHONES".

Many lower quality "computer headphones" or headsets have two 1/8" plugs. One is often black or red and is for an included microphone that may be a boom type (shown below) connected to one of the speakers or an "in-line" type built into the cord itself. The headphone speakers in the headset get their signal from the other plug - which is usually green; but could be any color really. There should be 3 metal parts on the stereo headphone plug. The tip, the middle ring and the bottom ring. Many times the mic is mono (not stereo) and only has only a tip and a bottom ring on the plug. You can see stereo headphone and microphone plugs he picture below:

Computer Headphones or "Headset" with mic and phone plugs.

Your Yamaha stereo will probably NOT have 1/8" jacks to directly plug the headphone into. You can buy an adapter that you would plug your headphones into and then plug the adapter into the 1/4" jack on the stereo. One is pictured below:

Front and rear views of a "1/4" to 1/8" Stereo Adapter Plug" The front plugs into the stereo and the the smaller 1/8" headphones plug into the rear.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Nothing if you do it yourself. Just see my tip on dealing with faulty wires/plugs on headphones and see if you can.

Have new lcd hdtv. Have old headphones can they

Yes. 2 possibilities:
1 - the new tv has a headphone jack - just plug them in.
2 - no headphone jack - buy a RCA to phone jack adaptor, plug it in the audio line out RCA connectors, plug the headphones into it and mute the tv.

No voices come out, sound is good, with headphones and speakers

This sounds like a problem with your connection for your headphones. Your headphone jack on your notebook is stereo, which means that you need stereo headphones to make it work. If you look at the tip of your plug on your headphone cord, it will have 1 black ring, or 2 black rings. 1 black ring is mono, 2 black rings is stereo.

If you are using stereo headphones, and you're still having this problem, your headphone plug is not going all the way into the jack on your notebook. Press the plug all the way into the jack and the problem should be fixed.

If you physically cannot push the plug all the way into the jack, there may be a problem with the jack on your notebook that will need to be looked at.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Ipod head phone jack no good

I agree with Solution 5. The copper pins in the jack that make the connection to your headphone plug are bent in such a way that they are springy and will make a good tight connection to the plug. When those copper connections get worn, they are not so springy and they bend inward causing you to lose audio on one side of your headphones unless you wiggle the plug and find that sweet spot that makes a connection. Then you have to hold the wire to keep pressure on it... it gets annoying.

You can open the case and there are slots in the headphone jack that you can get a hook scribe (like the dentists use) or safety pin to bent those copper connections back out. Don't bend them too far or they will break. You can also pick get a new part for $25 or a used part much cheaper. Once you iPod is open, it's a matter of a couple screws and a ribbon cable to replace the jack. Problem solved!
