Dear Stephanie,

Check at the rear of your DVD player or in its manual which region is it set to. It has a symbol that resembles a globe with a number inside.

In the U.S., players are set for region 1. Latin America and Australia for region 4. Europe and Middle East for region 2 and so on. Please check: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD_region_code

Maybe you are trying to use a DVD for region 2 (from Europe) in a DVD player in U.S., that only accepts region 1 discs. Please, check the label on your DVD or the back of its box.

Another reason could be that you are trying to play a recorded DVD in a format that is not read by your device, like DVD-R or DVD+R.

Hope you may find this information useful!

Best regards,

Miguel Luiz Martins

SOURCE: Samsung 3650 dvd/vcr player loading problem

Sorry, no suggestion other than don't buy Samsung. That's my conclusion after owning the same model. It worked fine for a while, but now won't load any DVD... usually. Sometimes it will play one, but more often it won't. Mine tries to load ("Loading") for a long time, I hear the DVD spinning, then ultimately the screen displays "This disc cannot be played" or something to that effect.

SOURCE: DVD player recorder won't read or play any disc

This just worked for me. Don't know how long it will last though. I found it on this webpage
http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/15118/130292.html

To do a reset:
On the remote control press the SETUP button,
Press the right key on the remote 3 times,
The Preference page will show up,
Press the down arrow five time to highlight
"default", hit right arrow to highlight "reset"
Press enter to reset. Turn off/on machine, etc.

SOURCE: solutions to incorrect disk error c105 & c104

Hello gjbrokke,

First make sure the disc is compatible with the dvd player (CD-R+ , or CD-R - )

Second make sure the region code of the dvd you burned is compatible with the dvd region settings on your dvd player.

One of those two are preventing the disc from playing in your sansui player.

I have an advent DV1418A and my built in dvd player wont work when i put a CLEAN WORKING disc in it says loading then it says "no disc" please help!

The READ head is dirty or damaged...very difficult to get to the back of TV to disassemble DVD player.. clean read (light diode) head with light cleaning fulid or don't take apart & use official cleaning DVD disc. Look on web site for CD\dvd cleaning disc.It looks like a CD but has 'fuzz' or a very thin " rug" on 'read' side of disc.

How do I uninstall vista from advent t2250 laptop and install xp

Just Get the original Windows XP disc and boot the PC. It will just overwrites the XP over Vista and formates disc C. But the problem is might be that some new models are designed for Vista and after you erased it you might be having problems with downloading extra drivers for your laptop.
These drivers are included in your boot DVD which you got then buying the laptop, but they are Vista drivers. You will need to download XP drivers from microsoft website and sometimes there will be a compartibility issues
Good Luck

Message reads NO DISC on Advent model DV1418A

Is the disc an original DVD or copied. If it is copied and the DVD is old the DVD will not read it and tell that there is no disc. You also need to have the laser checked. Did it do it for a number of disks or just one. If you have only tried one disk, try another

Advent model DV1418A

Towersong13;;
the "NO DISC" could mean that the heads are damaged, the disc(disks) [ you did try more then one?] are dirty, not the right DVD format.Even a small finger print, smug can cause problems!
you will have to take the TV\DVD apart to find the problem. I would suggest, buy a simple DVD player and connect it to the back or the [AV] audo\video plugs.
