Double oven that lost power and will not reset and comes up with F o3

Hi and weclome to FixYa, I am Kelly

The oven temp sensor has failed. When the sensor fails the range control unit shuts off the oven. However..... this is a double oven an it should only shut off the oven with the bad temp sensor. If it got super hot...while you were using it and it themally protected itself you may also need a thermal fuse / high temp fuse. IF you can locate the model number and respond here, I will look your model up and see what may have happened.

(I tried to answer your chat but it had already been passed to another expert)

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I need instructions on how to replace the thermal fuse please.

The thermal fuse is accessed by takeing the entire back panel off of the dryer. This fuse is a two wire device that is located lower center to slightly right side as you look at the back of the dryer. One of its leads will run to a heating element incased in a metal casing on the back right side of the dryer as you are looking at it from the back. If you have the new one it will be obviouse which one it is. There are other Hi heat thermal devices but they are normally on the shell of the heating element and not on the inside dryer housing. Make sure you turn off the electricity before doing any of this. Also when a themal fuse blows you need to clean out the dryer so there is good air flow. good luck

I have kenmore dryer model no. 417 and its not drying the clothes, its running but not heating, I checked the manual it said something about changing a fuse - can you give me more info on doing this, type...

Unplug
Check your exhuast vent, if it is buily up with lint, clean or replace.
Next remove the wires from the heating element, test with a meter for a complete circuit.
Then remove wires from thermal fuse and test with meter.
Then repeat for any additional themal fuses, should be two total but some units have three,
If one thermal is bad replace both.

Need to find a part number of a thermal fuse for a rice cooker

Check the NTE catalog of semiconductor cross reference. Look for themal fuses. Look for temprture on origina thermal fuse. Use the exact temp or the next one in line just a few degrees above. Then use the cross ref to order. Chopsticks anyone?

im guessing the themal fuse is the lamp? what is the PN where can i get it.

i had a small shere fall out of the unit, besides the positioning switch where else would this be located?
Thanks

I have a Frigidaire gallery series dryer.(GEOQ2152ESO). It will spin but will not heat. I suspect blown house fuses in dryer circuit. How do I access and replace fuses ?

the dryer circuit will be clearly labelled in the house box, there will be two fuses or a single two phase breaker for this circuit.
there are not usually electrical fuses as such IN a dryer, there are thermostats to regulate temperature, and a thermal fuse, that cuts the power totally to the heat element if air temperature rises above its melt point.
the element itself has a limited life span and may fuse/burnout.
to test electrical components.
Unplug dryer
open case, by removing the front,
described elsewhere in any of the 'changing belt' threads
locate the thermal cutouts, on the fan housing or exhaust duct and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire
3aca526.jpg5d18df6.jpg thermal cuttouts look like these ~1inch accross.
locate the heat element and disconnect one wire to isolate it from the rest of the circuit, test with ohmmmeter, no-continuity replace, continuity reconnect wire

while you have the dryer open de-lint the fan and exhaust ducting, most common cause of element or themal fuse failure is air flow restriction
7713ef8.jpgce0732c.jpg you get a lot of lint out of the fan even when proper cleaning is done, and clean out the ducting right to the exterior walls
95b69b0.jpgthis was the rather extreme result of not cleaning the duct (brainiac placed a wire across the terminals of the burnt out thermal fuse)

Thermal fuse keeps blowing

You see the other switches next to the thermal fuse? you need to change these too if you have a problem with the themal fuse blowing out repeatedly.
