Question about Computers & Internet
It depends what you mean by noisy start. If it is a high-pitched squeal when you start (or accelerate quickly) it may be the alternator belt that is worn and needs replacing. The squeal of a worn alternator belt usually wears off after a few seconds because the belt has 'warmed'.
If it's a 'tapping' or 'clicking' noise there are 2 possible culprits: Big end bearings (on the crankshaft) or camshaft. If the big end bearings are worn or the camshaft 'buckets' (followers .. those things that cause the inlet and exhaust valves to open) they rattle - metal against metal. After starting the car oil finds its way between the worn metal and silences the noise.
A 'grinding' noise may be caused by the starter motor/ring gear.
