Re: when trying to power up hear 3 beeps and camera turns...
Make sure the batteries are good and in right. If it keeps doing it you might be having a problem with your lens opening up and staying open, I had a camera that did that to me, and the lens had been knock and wouldnt open properly, check that out. The lens was out of range from normal and would automatically shut down

If The Lens Is All The Way Out And Wont Go Bak In Thats Why The Camera Wont Turn On Not The Other Way Around. Try Very Gently Turning The Lens And Turning The Camera On At The Same Time Till U Hear A Click That Should Do The Trick.
If the lens on the camera is stuck out,
look to see if it's a little crooked. If it is, try to gently straighten it.
If it still won't retract, try to gently push it in as you turn the power
on. If it won't turn on (the green light blinks and it beeps 3 times) push
and hold the 'power' button and the 'play' button at the same time for a few
seconds - it worked for my S730. Good luck!
1. Plug in controller
2. Have system in standby mode (red light)
3. Hold down power button for a full cycle (will turn on and back off again)
4. Hold power button again will hear 2 single beeps then a double beep.
5. As soon as you hear the double beep immediately remove your finger from the power button.
6. Hit the PS button on controller when it tells you to
7. Go to ONLY option 3 (restore)
8. WARNING: select any other option and you can wipe out everything ONLY USE OPTION 3
9. Follow on screen prompts
Try this and get back with me, I will look into it for you.
My guess is that your camera has been dropped recently and that the beeping is a result of the lens not extended when powered on. My Mother-in-Law has the same camera exhibiting the same symptoms. I've been able to get it to turn on by slightly pulling on the lens prior to turning it on. One of the plastic gears inside is probably damaged.
