Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
I've seen this several times when watching burned DVD's. There are a couple of ways to get the cd out. First, try turning off the system and hitting eject to turn it on. Second, a forced eject from the system. hold the eject button down, turn the power off, (still holding eject) then turn the power on.(still holding eject) Third, and hardest way. Crack open the system and remove everything down to the top of the cd drive. then remove the top of the drive and take your cd out.(LAST RESORT)******WILL VOID WARANTY*********

A PlayStation 3 Blueray drive has two major connection to the motherboard, one of them is the data ribbon and the other one is the power cable, if the data ribbon is bad or disconnected the drive will not take a disc in or play it and when you try to insert a disc you won't see the blue indication light flashing, when the data cable is ok and connected and you see the blue indication light flashing when you try to insert a disc but the drive still doesn't take it that means something is wrong with the power that pass from the motherboard to the Blueray drive controller board or the drive's internal components, it could also be a mechanical problem if the drive's mechanism is stuck in a wrong position , if its a power problem then it could be a power IC on the motherboard or the controller board - extra diagnostic required - but if these ICs proved to be ok then you need to check the drive internally for a bad motor or sensor and see if there is other problem with the mechanism including all the gears. The Blueray drive represent half of the console's value and whether the problem is caused by the motherboard that doesn't supply power to the controller board or from the controller board that gets power but doesn't work or internal mechanism problem you will need a professional repair so I would recommend www.ps3specialist.com to fix this problem for you.
