How to download the driver for HDD Seagate Momentus 4200.2 ST9808210A for OS WINDOWS XP/SP3? Thank you

You don't need the driver for the hard drive to work (i.e. if your drive is not working right, the driver won't fix it; and, there doesn't appear to be a driver).

You should not be using Windows XP (consider at least Vista--tends to be gentle on XP upgraders (of old machines), and is still supported by MS).

I don't know your history (e.g. did you inherit and non-working machine, did this use to work and then stopped); but if it's supposed to be a working drive and you are installing for the first time, it may be that your jumper is set to slave and needs to be master or cable select (oh the old days of IDE):

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

This error for all the listed cores in device manager? This typically a root system driver and without the need to ever change. I'd first remove all cores from device manage. Right click and uninstall device...however do not "remove software". Let Windows reinitialize the hardware and reinstall.
It's also possible your hardware may have some additional chipset drivers that need to be installed to work correctly. Download the Intel chipset installer from your PC's manufacturer support page.
This most likely just OS issue if it's just an isolated event. However if you have intermittent odd errors like this all over the place then there could be a deeper issue like HDD causing corruption.
Hope this helps...

I have an Acer Aspire 5920 When I reset to factory settings it always hangs and locks while installing its Acer programs (on 5 of 17 or something like that). There is nothing I have been able to do about...

The Acer Aspire 5920 is a fairly well known and reliable laptop ...

Restoring a Desktop/Laptop to its factory default is usually the last thing that you should be doing as it requires a bit of knowledge to correctly setup all the motherboard and peripherals again.

Installing a new OS does not require the Laptop to be reurned to factory settings!

To upgrade the Operating system, you first must have the Operating System Installation Media/DVD and you need to ensure that:
  • Your Laptop can support the target operating system and has enough resources (such as RAM)
  • You have ALL the correct drivers (such as Chipsets, Sound, Video, Ethernet, Wifi, Camera, etc...) for the desired OS (LINUX, XP, VISTA, W7, 32bits or 64Bits, etc..).
Upgrading an OS is not that difficult but is not a trivial exercise and you will need to understand a fair bit about your laptop before undertaking that task as you maybe required to answer 'hardware' drivers related questions such as CHIPSET series, SATA or IDE HDD, Model of Video Card, Model of Wifi Card.

Hope it helps.

500 Gb sata hdd not detected on k8mm-v motherboard

Find in your BIOS if you have an option that says configure SATA as IDE, AHCI and raid. Set it at IDE and try again to install the OS. After intaling do not switch back because it will not work.

Hello. I recently installed Windows 7 64bit Ultimate edition. I was initally unable to access my seagate external HDD. I tried to take ownership and played around with the permission settings to no avail...

It may be the USB chipset on the motherboard that needs a new 64bit driver downlod. I used Driver Detective to update my Intell chipset when I upgraded to 7 now all my external drives show up. Try using other USB ports on your computer first to force the computer to reload the driver for the new port.

Sorry, but I can't help you with this one. Try contacting Seagat for this & see if they have a solution to your problem.

Problem with sata HDD probably?

check the bios settings first. if you can see your sata hdd and dvd rom drive then you can install it with no problem. or else try to replace the cables of the hdd if the hdd is not showing up in the bios.
also check that the hdd is set to master drive and dvd also set to master as they are on different connections.

VGA Adapter

Most new laptops shipped with Vista use drivers that use the new WDDM instruction set for Aero. XP has one less D, WDM. This usually means that generic drivers MAY be the only way to get it to work. There are too many packages of the Satellite A135, if you gave me which one I can point you to the correct chipset.

Regardless of the OS the laptop was shipped with, you can usually find drivers for any OS based on the video chipset used. For example the A135-S4827 includes an Intel GMA950 video chipset. googling your model + video chipset will almost always get you a driver.
