My Remote for the TV (Harmony H659), does not always respond to button selections, Particularly the " PREV " button. Your advice on how to fix it, or get it fixed. Thanks

check the batterys, there may be some dirt in the prev button and its not contacting correctly. also clean the tv receaver and the remote. if that has no effect or you just tried brand new batterys, you may have to take the remote apart and inspect the buttons, there may be some dirt in there or maybe the button is not correctly in place, not touching properly.

How to shut off manually

UN55D6400UF TV Will Not Power Off If your TV is on but will not power off when you press the power button, you could be having an issue with your remote control or a faulty circuit inside your TV.
To determine the source of your problem, follow these steps:
  1. Power the TV on if it is off.
  2. Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, and then plug the TV back in.
  3. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=57355&cid=yokn68wxkhym@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c
    1. Press the POWER button on the remote control.
    2. [img src="http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/namo/namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=57355&cid=79HKC8BOY9YC@namo.co.kr&sep=%7C" height="51" border="0" width="50">
      • If the TV powers off when you press the POWER button on the remote control turn the TV back on continue to Step 4.
      • If the TV does not powers off then there is a problem with the remote control. Click here to go to the Remote Control troubleshooting section of this guide.
    1. Press the POWER button on the TV.
      • If the TV powers off with the remote but does not power off with the power button on the TV there could be an issue with the touch sensor on the TV. Before setting your unit up for service try these two things.
        1. Try sliding your finger accross the power button.
        2. Have other people try using the touch buttons on the TV.
        3. If either of these two options work then there is not an issue with the touch sensor on the TV. There are many variable that can limit the conductivity of a persons fingers. The conductivity of your fingers might not be enough to easily control the touch sensor on the TV.
        4. If the TV does not power off when you press either the POWER button on the TV or on the remote control, then the TV will need to be serviced. Click the Create online service request button below to have the TV repaired.

My dynex tv wont turn on! the strom knocked out our power, now the power is back on the tv wont turn on from remote or tv power button.

Lightning is a weird beast, and can do strange things to a TV. Sounds like the set took a hit. If there is a fuse then check it on a volt-ohm meter for continuity while it is out of the circuit, and if it is an open circuit, replace it. If there is a circuit breaker, then reset it. If these don't work, look for obvious scorching on the circuit board (assuming you know how to avoid electricution, otherwise do not touch). Lightening can literally jump around on a circuit board, so there is no way to know what part of the set was effected by the strike - the lightening will not always burn out the first circuit it touches, but will burn out something further into the circuit. The most obvious place to look is around the transformer and rectifier circuits. If a capacitor was hit, it may be swolen or discolored; resistors will scorch, and the worst thing is that transistors and IC's often show no damage - in fact, any part might be burned out and not show visible signs. If nothing is obvious (like scorch marks) and the fusing is intact, there are too many possibilities to begin listing them all. The fact that it won't turn on at all sounds like it is probably a power circuit, but, not necessarily. FYI turning a set off during a lightning storm does not protect it, you have to unplug the AC power cord and the line that feeds the signal into the set. Even circuit protection devices (lightning arrestors) may not protect against a close strike. Maybe the techs at Best Buy can supply more suggestions (Dynex is their brand).

My tv jumps on when i just touch any part of it. When i press the volume button on the remote, he just goes off... What should i do? Thanks

Hi.

There is an internal contact, that is rhe reason why TV turns on and with touch or vibration. The fault is in the button board that also include the sensor for the remote. in modern TVs the circuit with input buttons and remote sensor is a separate board whose cost ranges between about $15 and $50.

Front buttons . Remove the lower front speaker covers/panels by pulling . Then unplug connector ZF to the keypad . Then wait 3 minutes and try to turn it on with the remote . You may have to remove the access panel to find connector ZF (just follow the wiresdown from the front keypad). Don't touch , turn or break anything else while inside the access panel!
Let me know if that works
