Question about Marantz Tr 2242 Sb Legacy Series Pll Synthesizer Am/fm 20 Station Preset
I have a Marantz Legacy Series - IA 2232 amp; TR 2242 tuner; DA 2452 cassette. Been unused for fice years. Hooked it up and no sound is getting to the speakers from tuner or cassette. Lights are all lit and everything seems to be working fine. What would cause this? The amp? Is it worth fixing? I'm a duffer so hesitate to open them up. Thanks.
It seams like the amplifer is not working and you are right but it certanly needs to be measured first.

Your unit's micro IC, is in need of a reset.Un-plug the unit and locate the semi large yellow capactor on the main board. (r-h side facing front) Now flip the unit over and look thru the vent holes in that same area and locate the two solder pins. Short them out with a thin metal object, like a straightened out paper clip or wire, and turn it over (just discharge the cap and remove your wire) this will default all settings and restore normal operation.
