Question about Beko Washing Machines
Fabric softener isn't going in, been told to take the tray out and give the inlet a thorough cleaning but from the look of it I need to take the whole front panel off (just the top panel where the tray and dials are). I can only find one screw and don't want to pull too hard in case I snap something. Any help as what I should do?
Hi, The drawer should come out without having to remove screws /panels etc, in my experience when the drawer is pulled out full it stops from pulling all the way out by a simple catch at either the top or the underside the drawer itself then needs pushed down at the back of the drawer , the plastic flexes and the catch then releases . Hope this helps you will be amazed at the build up and dirt, when this is done and clear put your machine on with very light load at high temp to flush everything through problem with all the low temp washes although they save you money buildup never gets broke down to well to flush out the drain hose best to repeat this (flushing through) once a month say dependant on how much it is used

SOURCE: Won't take Fabric Softener
get a stiff washing up brush and scrub the fill holes above the powder tray. the conditioner fill hole may be blocked or is squirting out sideways. if not there may be a faulty fab cond water valve.

have you tried just white vinegar as your rinse aid. Do a full cycle of your washing machine using white vinegar instead of detergent, to clean any residue from pipes, and then in the next wash try white vinegar as your rinse aid.

Take out the drawer and clean the compartment and pipe at the end of the drawer with hot soapy water - washing up liquid works well. Clean all around it. To show this is working OK, put it in the sink and fill up the compartment with water until it is overflowing then stop. The water should drain out of the compartment on its own.
Next, where the drawer fits in the machine clean the water exit above the drawer with a washing up brush. This can appear brown or white depending on your water type. If this is OK try running the machine. If there is still a problem, remove the drawer again and turn off the power at the mains. Use something like a paper clip to poke all the holes in the water dispenser area above the drawer. There are lots of them so some patience might be required. If you live in a hard water area it could be blocked with limescale in which case an application of a descaling mousse or spraty will assist. Once complete, make sure you rinse the drawer area, drawer and put the drawer back in and run the machine on a short cold fill wash cycle. Put some fab con in the drawer to test that the machine drains it correctly. If all is well then there will be no fab con left. If it is still there then you will need to get into the water dispensing area to see what is wrong. Occasionally the mechanism can get jammed, lose a spring or just get broken, in which case it will need replacing.

The Solution: Top up the softener tray with extra water so that it is up to the 'max level' mark.
The softener tray works by a siphon action. Thus, the reason the tray does not empty is that not enough water is added by the machine during the softening cycle, so that the machine does not completely fill the softening tray; only when the softening tray is filled beyond the 'max' mark does the siphon action works. A partially filled tray will never empty - it's impossible due to the siphon.
The reason that not enough water is added to the tray during the softening action is that the water inlet of the machine is partial blocked (you can try to fix that) but it is simpler to just added more water to the conditioner tray.
Thus, the easiest way to ensure that the softener tray empties every time (after adding the softener to the softener tray of course) is to top up the softener tray with extra water, top it up to the 'max level' line (keep a bottle of water by the machine). That way, even if only a little water is added to the softener tray during the softening cycle by the machine it is enough to trigger the siphon action and the tray will empty!
Works for me every time, and no need to remove any parts - I used to take the tray out, clean it, scrub the outlet holes that fill the tray etc, but they used to gum up again quite quickly!
Hope that helps
