This can happen if two phones get plugged into the same line. Try swapping this phone into an extension with the same type of phone and see if the same thing happens, if it does, the phone is bad. I recently had a phone doing the same thing, replaced it and the extension was fine.

This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.

Changing the time on my Nortel T7316

Depending on the system that you have (BCM, CIC's, MIC's) and sotware levels, there are a couple of ways to get this to change the time and date on these systems...

There is the easiest way which is go to a set and dial without picking up the handset, this depends on the software level of the system if this is allowed or not:
-> Feature * * 8 4 6 3 (TIME)
and set the time and date by pressing change or next at the appropriate locations. Hours are to be input military time (24hr)

*******************************************************************************
Then there is the longer way if that way did not work, for MIC's or CIC's systems:
-> Feature * * 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> password: 2 3 6 4 6 (ADMIN) (This have been changed by the programmer - you can also try 2 6 6 3 4 4 (CONFIG) as an alternative)
Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

You will not see these words in the LCD display, you just have to look for the 3 arrows that correspond.
-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS press the NEXT button till you see TIME&DATE and press Enter and Change at the appropriate locations.

*******************************************************************************
For BCM programming:
-> FEATURE * * 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> User ID: 7 3 8 6 6 2 (SETNNA)
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4 (This have been changed by the programmer - you can also try 2 3 6 4 6 (ADMIN) as an alternative)

Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

You will not see these words in the LCD display, you just have to look for the 3 arrows that correspond.
-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS press the NEXT button till you see TIME&DATE and press Enter and Change at the appropriate locations.
