SOURCE: HP pavilion dv6700 won't down load it says there is a virus and closes

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode With Networking then Download and Install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Turn off the computer, then hit the power button to turn it back on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see SAFE MODE. Take the Safe Mode With Networking option (this will give you internet connectivity) and let it boot up. Safe Mode will look different to you, the screen will be darker and the icons bigger, this is normal.

Once you are booted up into Safe Mode With Networking open your internet browser.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

Wrong partition

There are companies that can restore your drive and recover from a format etc. I would place your old drive in the laptop and clone it to your new drive to get it to work.

I am unable to start windows after I formated all existing partitions. Now as my computer boots up it starts to load and say's "BOOTMGR is missing.. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

The problem could be with the hard drive or internal hardware.

in order to figure out the exact problem, perform hard drive self test.

here are the steps:

turn on the notebook and keep tapping f10 key until BIOS screen comes up

select Diagnostics option using arrow keys

select primary hard disk test

quick test starts followed by comprehensive test .. it may take an hour

if test fails, u need to replace the hard drive

My HP pavilion dv6000 gives the message BOOTMGR is missing...why?

Bootmgr is short form for Boot Manager and is the Windows Registry File that must be present to allow Windows to boot.
It is either corrupt or missing. In other words, you will not be able to boot without the use of your recovery disk, that you made when you first bought your laptop, or your Windows disk.
Insert either in your DVD drive and boot the laptop, you will be given the opportunity to recover your system or rebuild your system from there.
If you press F8 whilst and just before it boots, you may be lucky enough to catch the recovery disk on your hard drive partition.
Good luck and I hope it fixes your problem.

I have hp pavilion dv6000 i had a problem about recovery manager

Did you attempt to load recovery/factory image from hidden partition and if so did you follow User Manual or Guide re instruvtions? if so there should have been no problems. I would try again though do it slowly and carefully when choosing Options so that you don't change Partitions where the Default Software is.

Was it Alt and F10 buttons when powering up from a Shutdown, i.e Cold Boot?
