My htc touch gsm phone will not send or receive sms all of a sudd

Hi Daniel, HTC droids unfortunatly don't alternate from wifi to gsm services automatically. As that, go to Play Store, download and install APN OnOFF. This program will able cellphone's network changing and you'll be able to receive/send mms messages. I've instaled on my HTC Desire and it works fine. It wil change the settings from wifi to GSM/3G and opposite with no problem.

Surely you don't have 4000 emails loaded for scrolling on the screen? On my HTC EVO mail screen: /menu: /sync,send and receive., I can limit the amount or days of emails recently received being displayed. I can delete them, mark them as junk and all kinds of things. You need to learn how to use the phone email editing features. 95% is junk mail and needs deleting when you get it. You can reset the phone and wipe out all your pictures and phone calls. You can remove the Memory chip and edit it.Those emails are on a server until you delete them there and may show back up. Write down all your mailbox info and password before resetting.

try this one remove the battery and the sim card for 10mins.then restart it again...

No, there are no problem of servise center no. If u know the Number so after some days it will work itself. Just put the correct servise center number

I had the same problem and came to this site for help but the solutions didn't solve the problem of "cannot send text message" on htc touch hd. All service numbers correct. Went to START/SETTINGS/CONNECTIONS/ADVANCED NETWORK/SMS SERVICE then changed from "gprs" to "gprs preferred". Double checked and had reverted to "GSM" but sms now works - finally!!! Hope this helps.

E symbol is to indicate htat you have active EGprs connection....

This E symbol gets greyed out only , when you are out of reach or when you dont have proper sgnal..

Since the signal is very less, you were not able to send or receive SMS or Call..Try checking with open space...No Issues with your mobile

this should be happening because of SMS memory full ... after it the messeges can not be sent .. or can be the connection problem..

I purchased an AT&T Go Phone to use it's sim card in my gsm module. It did not work. I called AT&T and they told me the gsm module is not supported. 
I then purchased a T-Mobile prepaid phone and installed it's sim card in the gsm module and it works perfect every time. 

Hello Brian, The SMS folder dissapears most probably because another program interferes with it. The same happens on some HP's with camera, where this options dissapears from menu because of some user installed programs. In your case, it doesn't have to be a SMS - messaging related program, there are some compatibility issues and programs that apparently doen't have anything to do with messaging are causing this. You should first try a master reset (hard reset) (save your data first). However in some cases this doesn't help, even if the program that's causing the problem is removed, and you will need a firmware rewrite/update.
