Have you got an Internet Service Provider?

Have you enabled encryption on your wireless router?

Have you configured your wireless LAN card with the same encryption that you created on the wireless router?

If your other laptop is working fine, then have a look at the configuration of the wireless card and use the same configuration on the one that is not working.
Depending upon your wireless card make there is a program that enable you to setup the wireless card. Go to Start - Programs to locate this program. If your wireless card is built-in refer to your Acer manual.
Encryption is setup on the wireless router and these settings are also used to configure the wireless card. If the encryption is already setup, changing the encryption will affect your other wireless card, therefore all the wireless cards will need to be reconfigured with the new encryption to work with the wireless router.

The Acer Aspire One is an inexpensive laptop computer that runs the Windows operating system. The computer does come with a built in Wi-Fi receiver, giving you the ability to connect to a wireless Internet network, when available.
However, if you are having trouble connecting to a wireless network, you must troubleshoot the network connection to determine exactly what is causing the problem with the Internet.
Check the wireless router and high-speed modem.
If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.
Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer.
Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu.
Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.

Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to.
Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire.
Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.

Restart the computer.
The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver. Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

also
Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon.
This could be located on the upper row on a laptop it will have the radiation look (((·)))
Make sure its pressed on.
The internet connection is located in the system tray in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
The icon looks like a series of rectangles that increase in size from left to right.
Right-click the Wi-Fi icon and select "Connect to a network."
You will see a list of available wireless networks.
Wireless Acer laptop can be a massive boon to your productivity when it is working properly and a massive headache when it is not.
When your laptop card begins to exhibit undesirable symptoms, such as signal dropping, you can avoid a hefty repair bill by performing at-home troubleshooting.
The best solution is to merely reinstall the software driver, which refers to the program that the operating system uses to speak the wireless card's language.

Open your operating manual and look up the model name and number for your laptop.
Navigate to the Acer Support web page (see Below) and click on the "Downloads" link.
http://support.acer.com/
Input the model number of your laptop, click on the "Search" button, download the wireless driver file for your laptop model and save the file to your desktop.
Open the "Start" menu, click on "Control Panel" and open "Device Manager."
Open the "Network Adapters" menu, double-click on your wireless card, select the "Drivers" tab, click on the "Update Drivers" button and choose the desktop as the location to search for new drivers.
Click "Next" to reinstall the driver, fixing your wireless woes.

Cant access internet through wireless network.

How do you know your notebook is connected to your wifi AP? Did you try pinging the gateway? If not, open your command window & type "ping 192.168.0.1" (put in your own gateway address.) If you get replies, then ping something outside of your network: "ping 4.2.2.2" (this is a verizon dns server). If you get replies, then "ping yahoo.com". If it does not fail at any of the above steps, you don't have a connectivity problem. If you fail any of the above, then report back & we'll continue the troubleshooting.

Can not connect wirelessly with router

The list of wireless routers that are available in Windows is very limited and the signal strength of any router that is detected is weak. This can occur when the Lite-On USB Wireless 802.11 b/g hardware and Windows are not able to fully synchronize the signal strength data. Figure 1: Example of detected wireless devices when the antenna cable wire is connected to secondary port c01153759.jpg Figure 2: Example of detected wireless devices in the same environment when the antenna cable wire is connected to primary port c01153760.jpg To correct this error , download and install Lite-On USB Wireless LAN Driver Update (sp35177) (in English) from the HP Web site. This update should only be applied if your PC has the Lit-On USB Wireless LAN adapter and is exhibiting the symptom. As a work-around, you can connect the wire that runs from the wireless antenna port to the primary port on the cord as follows: CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.
    1. Open the side panel.
    2. Find the wireless networking board by following the antenna wire connected to the wireless networking antenna port on the back of the computer. Figure 3: Wireless networking hardware c01153761.jpg 1 - Wireless network board 2 - Antenna wire 3 - Wireless networking antenna port
    3. Very carefully, disconnect the small wire from the board by gently pulling the end of the wire away from the board.
    4. Connect the wire to the other available port on the board. Figure 4: Available port c01153762.jpg
    5. Replace the side panel, connect the power cord, turn on the computer, and use the computer again to verify that wireless signal strengths have improved.

    Acer aspire 5360

Please make sure that the wireless antenna switch is on. Then enable the wireless feature using the hot key combination for your laptop (if available but need not be done since you were able to detect networks earlier). If you are using Vista, please click on Start-Connect to to see if your laptop is now able to detect networks.
If laptop is not able to detect any networks, please uninstall the wireless network adapter by going to Start - Control Panel - Classic View - Device Manager - Network Adapters - select the one for the  Wireless Network Adapter - properties - driver tab - uninstall - ok. Then please restart your laptop. Click on Start - Connect to  and see if your laptop is now able to detect networks.
If laptop is still not able to detect wireless networks, please click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore then choose a restore point (date) which is a possible time when your laptop was able to detect wireless networks. Laptop will restart automatically and notify you if the restoration is completed. Try Start - Connect to. Hope it works this time. Thank you.
