Screching noise when i turn on AC

2002 dodge grand caravan when i turn on the air conditioning it makes a screching noise. but thats the only time i getthe noise. belt is good and not lose all pullys are not loose there is a washer in the center of the AC clutch/pully that appears loose behind the nut but cant tighten nut to sinch up washer appears to be a counter wieght maybe bad clutch i assume how hard is this to replace or woudl it be best to replace the whole compressor?

Sounds like front bearing on compressor. clutch works on magnetic pull in principle so screech is probably bearing and not clutch assembly.

Fisher Paykel washer makes a screching noise

Turn the washer over and see if this model uses a belt to drive the transmission for the washer, if so replace it, I will bet it does, if not the transmission is defective.

2004 grand caravan air conditioning not working

clicking noise is a/c compressor kicking on and off from freon being low, need to recharge a/c system, these vans our bad about rear a/c evaporators leaking if you have the rear a/c option.

your blower motor is dying, replace it with a new one before your run out of heat/air conditioning

Hi, be sure you have the power stering fluid to the max level, check the condition of the belt if is in good condition adjust it properly ,when the car turns ,it adds more presure to the pump and if the belt is not tight it will slips and make that screching noise ....good luck...

id say you need to replace your serpentine belt and or put belt dressing on it to stop the screching

Air condition

I have a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. I had the same problem and had a auto shop replace the thermostat and my AC works just fine now.

Check the dodge website for recalls and see if the pcm needs to be updated. The pcm controls everything in that van.
