My 1998 lexus e300 is running hot and I noticed the cooling fans are both running but at low speed. what controls the fan speed

The PCM(computer) controls the fan speed. Low speed comes on around 200 degrees, high speed kicks on at around 225 degrees. If they come on when you first start the engine, the coolant sensor is bad. PCM is in default mode and runs the fans all the time. Since it doesn't read the 225 mark, it won't kick on the high speed. Turning on the A/C will also kick on the high speed fans. That's if your A/C works.

Air conditioner pump clutch keeps kicking on and off at low rpms, car dies.

This is caused by one of two things, the AC is low on charge (refrigerant) or the idle speed is to slow to a problem in the automatic idle speed control system.

Have a 2 stage 70000btu 2 stage furnace by goodman. I have hooked up a honeywell steam humidifier. and when it calls for humidity the high fan speed does not kick in. The only fan speed that kicks in is...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

well its best to let the low fan do the humidity work, and not the high.. you did not provide the model of the goodman, but you ether went direct to the heater control card, to the humidity connection . or wired to the low side call contacts. you can hook the humidifier to the high fan speed contacts

I tried to help you. Please help me and Rate/Vote on my response, thanks and good luck

My 2000 eclipse 2.4L runs hot at idle only

Your car should have a High and low speed connector there. That would cause the problem you described, if the PCM sees the temp at about 195 the low speed fan should kick on, if that fan doesn't provide enough airflow it kicks on to high speed to cool quicker. in your case the low speed is non existent and the computer is simply waiting for the temp to raise to the point where it triggers the high speed relay.

Abs kicks in at low speed and pedal pressure

You have a weak or bad ABS sensor on one of the hubs. They are built into the hub and are not individually replaceable. Also rust buildup around the sensor will cause this same problem. To stop the ABS from kicking in untill repair just pull the fuse.
