Thanks for your help clarkco. Unfortunately, it seems to be all of the burners. Not sure if this helps but the oven takes extremely long to heat up. Yes the stove uses manual controls to adjust the burners. Please note that this is an Electrolux Free Gast Range Model EW30GF65GS

    Thanks again

I will have to pull the unit out and check to see what is behind it. I know that the unit is plugged into the outlet. I live on the top floor of an apartment building in the city therefore the supply is natural gas. If so I might have to contact our building management company

I must assume that the unit uses manual controls for the burners.....if the orifice feeding the burner is plugged (some sort of spill) the gas will not reach the burner for it to light. If it is just one burner, I would investigate a plugged orifice feeding that burner.....if it is all the top burners, there may be a supply problem. let me know what you find.

at the point where the gas line enters the unit.....if there is a regulator, I would suspect that part. if there is no regulator where the gas line enters, the problem is before the gas reaches the stove.....if you use propane, the problem could be a water heater using the supplied pressure or, the regulator at the tank cannot provide sufficient gas flow....if you are in the city and use natural gas....if the supply of gas is not sufficient, you need to contact your suppler.

    let me know.

if you contact the gas supplier, they may be able to check the pressure/flow at the unit free of charge. if they will make the tests, ensure that they are testing at the time you experienced the problem, not a couple hours before or after when you have noticed the problem.

Sears Kenmore gas stove, the front left and the left and right rear burners turn on when the knob is turned to the lite position. The right front burner doesn't turn on when put lite position. N

If there is no clicking sound like you hear when you turn on the other burners than I'm going to say that either the electrode is bad or the spark switch, which is what you turn to turn on the burner to begin with. Both parts are cheap so it may be a good maintenance thing to change all of the burners. Make sure you have your model and go to and order both parts, and if you don't need one send it back for a full refund even if you installed it. good luck

Jenn- Air rotisserie burner wont lite. Doesn't

Try removing the cover on the back of the grill hood and finding the orifice for the rear burner. Check to see if the orifice is plugged.

Gas Range Repair Burners Keep on Clicking

Gas burner wont come on ,it just keeps making a clicking sound but doesn`t come on fridgidair

Is the gas shut-off on? (If the problem is with all burners this is the first place to check.) Usually the shut-off is at the back of the unit and you can reach it after removing the bottom storage drawer. Make sure the burner parts are put together properly (some sealed burner units only fit one way). Check that there are no clogs in the burner slits. The clicking is the ignitor trying to ignite the gas, btw.

Additional problems are recommended for professionals. However you can look for a clogged orifice when you disassemble the burner for cleaning.

I hope this helps.

(I don't know of any range that has a separate burner shut-off (just oven shut-offs) but you might check your range.)

Grill seems to flair up, doe not always light with 1st press of the ignitor(or 2nd, 3rd...) and then it does start and a gas filled burst of heat erupts

most grills do not lite on the first press of the igniter so this is a common situation, The best way to prevent this is make sure everything around the igniter is clean especially the burner. I've seen brand new grills do the for their entire service life so don't be discouraged if you can't correct the problem. Get a extended lighter and lite the grill manually, lite the lighter hold it next to the burner then turn the burner control on, Always lite a grill with the hood or cover open!!

I have a kenmore gas range with electric ignitors. My question is that my stove top doesnt ignite but lets gas by and I can use a lighter to lite them. However my oven doesn't do gas no...

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

One of the igniters does not click. they were wet and popped the breaker over a week ago . all but one now clicks and lites burners. it was sparking a weekago and blowing the breaker.

Make sure the area of the burner base around the spark electrode is clean (use a fine sand paper). The little hole for the gas is open (use a paper clip). You won’t see a flame unless the burner head is on. If this doesn’t help, check the bottom of the spark electrode visually. Make sure the wire is attached to the electrode and is not loose (pull it a little bit.) If the wire or the electrode is damaged, replace it ($25). If not, locate the spark module and switch the connection with another one (they are different colors). If you get flame on the same burner, but not on the other one, replace the spark module ($60). When you work with electrical components, turn the breaker off. When you test, turn it on. Good luck.
