Question about Televison & Video
Audio k, video should be not come only blue color screen with horizontial lines are came...some times power off then ON the Tv video and audio working properly..i think some loose contact pls help me..
I assume you might have post this problem under CRT based TV; and not with Flat Panel TVs. Anyway let me post a solution to this. The first thing you have to do is, to solder all the four connections to deflection yoke. It's a must. Never allow any loose contact with these connections. It might lead more troubles. Never switch ON the set, without soldering these connections well.
Then comes, the case of raster. If there is only a blue raster, with horizontal lines, as you describe here, it should be the fault with its video output stage circuit itself, provided CRT is good. If the horizontal lines displays at equal space, that is, at about an inch space, all around the screen [white thin lines], and are some what parallel to each other, check the voltage at the blue cathode of the CRT base. If this voltage is very less than the other two cathodes, check the blue video output transistor's collector voltage. Check the transistor for collector-emitter leak. Replace it. Check its collector voltage. If found very low, check and replace the load resistor connected to it collector to video output supply voltage [180VDC].
I think you to be somewhat sound in elelctronics, and is why I spend some time to place this solution here. For more information go to http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. Pull up older posts. Hopes it will help you. Good luck.

If you are using a set top box this might be caused by turnig the box on at the same tie as you turn the tv on or slightly after you turn the tv on. If you are using compnent or HDMI inputs the set needs to see the signal as it is turned on to know what formt the signal is in.

Press menu button on the TV if the on screen display is also distorted or no pic the TV is definetely defective. You can try unpluuging from wall for about 15 minutes and see if reset helps if not problem is either main p.c.b , LCD panel , LVDS cable or Power supply board. and would require service. most likely problem would be bad connection at or defective LVDS cable that connects main p.c.b to Panel (cheapest fix) or defective main p.c.b. If it is the panel it would probably not be worth repairing and you may want to sell as is on ebay.

SOURCE: LG 37LC7D
Do not keep forcing this unit on - - This particular unit has a VERY commonly known problem and there are at least five tech bulletins from LG explaining this and other symptoms for the failure. In a nutshell there are coils that have to be removed and replaced with a jumper wire. This is not a repair you want to tackle so please get some experienced help for this one. A good technician will look-up the bulletins and educate themselves on the manner of the repair.
Almost all of the symptoms that can happen are intermittent and can be extremely difficult to verify. For this reason make sure to discuss with the technician that he replace all of the coils listed in the bulletin not just the ones causing your particular problem. Here's a list of symptoms that these defective coils cause, taken right from the bulletin:
1. Channels Or Menu Functions Scroll On Their Own
2. Remote Does Not Function
3. Tv Randomly Powers On And Off On Its Own
5. No Backlight
Hope this helps!
