NOTE The jiggle valve on the thermostat must be in the up position.
  2. Place the thermostat in the water hose connection making sure the thermostat jiggle valve is facing up.
  3. Install the new gasket and place the water hose connection assembly into position.
  4. Install the water hose connection assembly retainers and tighten them to 89-124 inch lbs. (10-14 Nm).
  5. Connect the upper radiator hose to the water hose connection.
  6. Fill the engine with coolant, start the engine and check for leaks.
  7. Stop the engine and top off the coolant recovery reservoir as necessary.

There are three hookups in back of refrigerator. Do I need to run 3 differen tlines of water supply?

To the best of my knowledge there is only ONE source connection and 2 internal connections that would connect to the water inlet valve assembly. This almost sounds like someone removed the inlet water valve and left it off of the unit. (Or.. the water valve was never connected at all)
The plastic tubing just presses into each of the water inlet water valve holes. you have a 50/50 chance of getting the connections correct if they are not labeled. If it is connected incorrectly when you depress water dispense the ice maker will over fill with water. (Swap the connections)
The inlet water valve will look just like this one. It will have 2 inside connections and one external connection. (see link) http://www.fixya.com/uploads/images/1E1A1B9.jpg

There should also be Two black and flat 2 pin electrical connectors dangling if the water valve was removed.

Take a look and let me know if your water valve is missing.
Thanks for choosing FixYa.

How does rhe hot and cold water hook up on a 71-40d which is which top and bottom

Tanks are marked with Hot and Cold.
1) If water connections are on top of tank, look for red marking or word HOT that shows where hot water pipe connects. Look for blue marking or word COLD that shows cold water connection.
2) If water connections are on side of tank, cold water connects to bottom one, and hot connects to top.

3) If hot and cold are reversed, the tank will not work.
Pipes on top of tank: cold water enters tank and is sent to bottom of tank in a long tube called the dip tube. This means the cold is on the bottom since hot water rises to the top. The hot water exits top of tank.
Pipes on side of tank: You want cold water to enter bottom, so hot water naturally rises to the top outlet.

Hot water connected but does not fill into the drum? The machine will provide us with a cold wash but on the warm and hot settings the hot water dies not pull through the connection

Turn off the water valves which supply the water to washer hoses. Switch the hot and cold water supply hoses and tighten. Turn the water valves back on and try to run a wash cycle using cold. If hot water only is entering the wash tub the water supply is ok. If this is the case you can unplug the washer and turn off the water valves. Remove the washer back cover and follow the water connection for the hot water. The water solenoid valve will have two electrical wires connected to it. Interchange the hot water solenoid wires with the cold water solenoid connection. Connect the water supply hoses hot to hot and cold to cold then plug the unit then test the washer on the cold wash. If the problem persists it could be a water hose restriction or the timer circuit could be defective. If you have hot water at the normal pressure purchase a new hot water solenoid valve. With the electrical cord unplugged be sure to restore the correct wire connections on the hot and cold water solenoid. To replace the hot water solenoid remove the hose clamp and hose to replace the old valve. Connect the unit to the water and electrical outlet. Turn on the water and test the unit for leaks being careful not to touch any electrical and moving parts. If all checks ok and the correct temperature work, unplug the unit and reassemble.

How important is it to vacuum coils on a 632S sub zero? How often should it be done? What happends if coils aren't vacuumed regularly?

once a month would be ideal. It prevents the unit from dissappating heat which effects the way the unit cools and runs less efficiently.

Sub zero 632S error code 21

EC 21 has nothing to do with the refigerator. From the 600-2 series service manual page 3-21 EC 21 is Defrost Overheat fault.
The defrost system is only in the freezer and on a completely seperate refrigeration system. Clear the EC by holding the bell key pad down until you here a tone this is going to be a minimum of 15 but can be as long as 30 depending on the generation of your appliance. The part that you will most likely need to replace is the defrost terminator which stops the defrost cycle. You may have also had a problem in the refrigeration section which did fix by yourself, good job.

Need to make sure that the water connections are correct - first that the hot water hose and cold water hose have not been interchanged and then if they are correct try interchanging the electrical connections to the water valves.
