Question about ASUS A8N5X Motherboard
I have been trying to get the digital sound to work on my computer and cannot figure out why it won't work. I have tried both coax and optical digital to connect to a new soundsystem I bought (Mainstage HD). I made sure the box under the device manager for CD's was checked saying enable digital CD audio for this Cd Rom. Installed the newest Realtec ac97 drivers and codecs from Asus' page. Still not working. Will work if I have it play through the regular speaker jack in analog. Any suggestions would be welcome. I don't know if I am missing checking another box to enable digital or what.

Tips for a great answer:
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or
to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test the leads that attach to your ((hard drive from the motherboard)) or replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your ((motherboard to hard drive))
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections needs its connections continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps
