Will note n7000 get further android os updates

The only way to get 4.2.2 is this:

The first generation of the Galaxy Note line, N7000 initially runs Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and later features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Owners of the device can update their Galaxy Note N7000 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with special features such as colour inversion, notification drawer, lock screen shortcuts and custom Quick Settings.

Using Slim Bean ROM, your Galaxy Note N7000 will run the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean containing all features of the Android OS, customisation and tweaking capabilities, amazing themes, stability, constant update and relatively bloat-ware free system.
Warning: Slim Bean ROM is a customised ROM and its developers are not liable for any damages on your device. The featured ROM only applies to Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and should never be installed to any other devices. Read and follow the instructions carefully to prevent damaging your handset. Do this at your own risk.
Requirements:
Before you perform the installation, make sure that your device has met all prerequisites.
  • Your device must be rooted to be able to flash the custom ROM. Click one of the OS version for rooting instructions: Gingerbread 2.3.5 or Jelly Bean 4.1.2.
  • Create a backup of all your personal information, settings and data files on your device. Do not use Samsung Kies since Slim Bean ROM is a custom ROM which won't be detected by the program.
  • Uninstall all antivirus apps on your handset and temporarily disable any security programs on your computer. It may interfere the installation progress.
  • Make sure that the battery level is at least 50 per cent to prevent any power interruption during the installation.
  • Enable USB debugging mode on your device.
  • Install a custom recovery app such as ClockWorkMod recovery or TWRP.
  • Install USB drivers on your computer for the Galaxy Note N7000.
  • Download the Slim Bean Build 6 Android 4.2.2 ROM and the Slim Google Apps package on your computer.
Flashing Instructions
1. Connect your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 to the computer via USB cable.
2. Copy the Slim Bean custom ROM and Slim Google Apps package to the external memory of your device. Do not extract any of them.
3. Disconnect your device from the computer then reboot it into Recovery mode using the custom recovery app.
4. Inside the Recovery mode, select "backup and restore > backup" to create a nAndroid backup of the current ROM which you can restore later in case of any problems.
5. After the backup, select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition" to clear all data on your device.
6. Then select "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card" and choose the Slim Bean ROM zip file to install it. Do the same with the Slim Google Apps zip file.
7. Once the installation is complete, go back then select "reboot system now." Boot up may take 5 minutes for its first run.
Congratulations! Your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 is running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean using Slim Bean ROM with tons of other features not found on a regular stock ROM.

How can you backup and restore the Registry?

Maintaining the Registry

Windows 95
Microsoft included a utility on the Windows 95 CD-ROM that lets you create backups of the Registry on your computer. The Microsoft Configuration Backup program, CFGBACK.EXE, can be found in the \Other\Misc\Cfgback directory on the Windows 95 CD-ROM. This utility lets you create up to nine different backup copies of the Registry, which it stores, with the extension RBK, in your \Windows directory. If your system is set up for multiple users, CFGBACK.EXE won't back up the USER.DAT file.

After you have backed up your Registry, you can copy the RBK file onto a floppy disk for safekeeping. However, to restore from a backup, the RBK file must reside in the \Windows directory. Windows 95 stores the backups in compressed form, which you can then restore only by using the CFGBACK.EXE utility.

Windows 98
Microsoft Windows 98 automatically creates a backup copy of the registry every time Windows starts, in addition to this you can manually create a backup using the Registry Checker utility by running SCANREGW.EXE from Start | Run menu.

What to do if you get a Corrupted Registry
Windows 95, 98 and NT all have a simple registry backup mechanism that is quite reliable, although you should never simply rely on it, remember to always make a backup first!

Windows 95
In the Windows directory there are several hidden files, four of these will be SYSTEM.DAT & USER.DAT, your current registry, and SYSTEM.DA0 & USER.DA0, a backup of your registry. Windows 9x has a nice reature in that every time it appears to start successfully it will copy the registry over these backup files, so just in case something goes wrong can can restore it to a known good state. To restore the registry follow these instruction:
[list=1]
* Click the Start button, and then click Shut Down.

* Click Restart The Computer In MS-DOS Mode, then click Yes.

* Change to your Windows directory. For example, if your Windows directory is c:\windows, you would type the following:

cd c:\windows

* Type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each one. (Note that SYSTEM.DA0 and USER.DA0 contain the number zero.)

attrib -h -r -s system.dat
attrib -h -r -s system.da0
copy system.da0 system.dat
attrib -h -r -s user.dat
attrib -h -r -s user.da0
copy user.da0 user.dat

* Restart your computer.

Following this procedure will restore your registry to its state when you last successfully started your computer.

If all else fails, there is a file on your hard disk named SYSTEM.1ST that was created when Windows 95 was first successfully installed. If necessary you could also change the file attributes of this file from read-only and hidden to archive to copy the file to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.DAT.

Windows NT
On Windows NT you can use either the "Last Known Good" option or RDISK to restore to registry to a stable working configuration.

How can I clean out old data from the Registry?
Although it's possible to manually go through the Registry and delete unwanted entries, Microsoft provides a tool to automate the process, the program is called RegClean. RegClean analyzes Windows Registry keys stored in a common location in the Windows Registry. It finds keys that contain erroneous values, it removes them from the Windows Registry after having recording those entries in the Undo.Reg file.

It is looking for the windows automated system recovery disk and I have reistallation cd. how would I get this

You will need to create one.

Windows system errors, crashes and other problems may lead to a malfunctioning system or an operating system that doesn't load properly. You can create a Windows system-repair or automated recovery disc that contains tools for fixing the operating system. The CD you create will contain system-recovery options and tools like Windows' Startup Repair, System Restore and the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool.

Insert a CD into the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Click the "Start" button. Type "backup" in the search box and click the "Backup and Restore" search result entry. Select the "Create a System Repair Disc" option in the left column. Click "Yes" or "OK" if a user account control message appears. Click the "Drive" drop-down menu and select the name and letter of your CD/DVD drive. Press the "Create Disc" button. Wait for the progress bar to turn completely green and Windows to finish the repair disc. Click "Close" and then "OK" to exit the repair disc wizard. Hope this helps.

Having dropped my Samsung R530 (nothing obviously broken), when I try to stsrt it it is coming up with the message:- "Boot From AHCI CD ROM: Operating System not found" Any ideas?

Hi tony prother,

"Boot From AHCI CD ROM: Operating System not found" error is because the system is booting the CDROM of the system and its not detecting an installed Operating System. You need to check if the system still detects the Hard Drive of your laptop on the Bios page. To go to BIOS reboot the computer and tap F2 on the system and on the bios page check if the hard drive is detected then go to then BOOT Tab select the hard drive as the first boot priority and reboot the system.

If the hard drive is not detected it might be damage, you can get intouch to a local tech to check and backup the files.

Thanks for using Fixya.

In the screen say wait no boot bios

"No boot BIOS" or "No boot ROM" are the default messages when there's no hard disk to boot from, or when the hard disk does not contain a valid operative system, or is not marked as bootable. Also, if the hard disk is not among the units to boot from.

Check the system configuration, then the hard disk.

Preinstalled Office home and Student 2007 backup copy

When you purchased your computer, the vendor-supplied "System Restore" set of CD-ROMs were used to install both the Windows operating system and a selected set of additional software, which includes that version of Microsoft Office. So, those disks are your backup.

Thus, taking a different set of Microsoft Office CD-ROMs, such as one purchased from a retail outlet, and trying to use the listed product-key with that "retail" set of CD-ROM disks is *NOT* allowed by Microsoft, as you have discovered.
