hi, I tried your way but did not happen anything. I press the clear button and press & held start button. please give me alternative way that I can solve the problem. I live in Australia so its not possible to get technician to open and fix (it cost so much, I can buy a new one). Anyway I opened myself and i didn't see anything wrong inside. I have not got any burning smell or something like that. (I am computer technician) . I have some idea about Motherboard and that sort of things. So please give me an idea. thanks

I assure you from my end that is simple mechanical fault the inner switch is supposed to be replaced
so dont worry just take it to local technician or service station it hardly takes 5 minutes to fix it

Hi,

There is a lockout feature on the oven - push the "Clear" button & then push the "Start" & keep it held in until you see the lock button light up (takes awhile) & then push the "Clear" button again. After I did this the "Clock" worked again - reset the clock to the correct time & push "Start" Then click on "Bake" set your temperature & push "Start". Hope this works for you.

OR

Technician normally unplugged the range, removed the back, unplugged and repluggged all the ribbon connectors.

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news, However there is no foolproof method to get it rectified. If there is a fault in the motherboard or might be control panel of the oven, you might not have seen other buttons working. As you can see the start button is not working, there might be few tricks you may use.

Note - Use it with your own risk.

1. The start button might be stuck.Try to use a screw driver to straighten it out.If not work, replace that old button with the new one.

3. Technician unplugged the range, removed the back, unplugged and repluggged all the ribbon connectors. All works now.

Hope this work, unless you need to call a tech or ' Purchase' a new oven :(.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Do rate the solution as "Fixya" if 100% satisfied.

Everything works fine, except my food is still cold

Check the "power" level setting.

Most microwaves allow adjusting the power level from 1 to 10 (or 10 to 100 on some models). 10 (or 100) is the highest/quickest setting.

I can check mine by entering a time...then before pushing "start"....push the "power" button....and change the level if I want.

Microwave stopped working last night

If the microwave worked for a little while after you plugged it in again then it is just overheating. It is usually just dust/dirt collecting on the vents.the fan,and the magnetron(the thing the fan blows on).If cleaning all these doesn't solve the problem you may have a bad high temp overload sensor, and need to replace it.(this sensor is usually mounted directly on the top of the magnetron. The magnetron is the part that actually puts out the microwave signal.I've never seen a reset button. The high temp sensors reset themselves automatically.

Kenmore Microwave Hood Combination: over the stove Model #721.80602500

Disclaimer: I'm a DIYer, not a technician.

Our GE over-the-range microwave stopped producing heat yesterday while warming part of the T-giving feast. Everything else (fan, control panel, light) works fine.

After disassembly and testing last night, I discovered a defective "secondary door switch." Your Kenmore uses a similar switch (~$19 on-line), and that might be the problem. But it also could be other things, such as a bad thermal cut-out.

If you know anyone who's handy with a multimeter, most of the basic diagnostics seem to be pretty straightforward.

Starting by itself

Time for a service call. Should not turn on by itself at any cause. Circuit board is my guess. May be cheaper/easier to get new microwave. My first one lasted about 15 yrs--and the circuit board (touchpad) died. Bought new microwave oven.
