Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service

This sounds like either an IO error or a code 10 or 28 (geek talk for driver failure). You might wanna check out if there are any hardware issue on the keybaord by checking your device manager (right click my computer> Properties> Hardware tab> Device manager button).
If there is a yellow question mark or a exclamation mark, on the section for keybaords, is most probably a hardware or driver issue. You might even have to send it back for servicing.
Alterntively, you also might wanna explore the possibility of the battery running our or being "dead". Sometimes, it these simple things that we over look. Most of the time, these kinda of issues are I/O issues and not associated with the network, but generally with the machine itself.
Hope this helped. If you have any doubts furthermore pertaining to this, do not hesitate to ask me and i shall reply. Thank you.

I manage to find the solution to this elsewhere on this website,
"Problem solved by a representative at Logitech. press (at same time) Alt-ctrl-f12 two times, press reset on receiver, oress connect on back of keyboard then esc"

The problem was that ther keyboard was encrypted for my protection. this sometimes prevents the keyboard from connecting to the receiver and therefore the computer. to stop encrypton: press the left CRTL + left ALT + F12 key at the same time. Press the connect button on the receiver (you only have a few seconds to then press the connect button on the keyboard. Press the ESC key. Now you must start the encrypton again. Install SetPoint software from www.logitech.com/downloads. after you save and run the program, then press left CTRL + left ALT + F12 keys. sometimes there is an encrytpion wizard that pops up to help you further encrypt the keyboard, but this does not always pop up. It didn't on mine. My keyboard just started working right after i re-sarted the encryption.
hope this helps others that were in my situation.

HELLO, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO DOWN LOAD THE SOFT WARE THEN PLUG IN THE USB AND AFTER THAT ON YOUR RECIEVER CLICK THE CONNECT BUTTON ON THE RECIEVER TILL IT RECONIZES BOTH KEY BOARD AND MOUSE I HAVE THE LOGITECH WIRELESS SYSTEM AND I LOVE IT TILL THE BATTERIES GO OUT ON THE MOUSE OR KEY BOARD LOL THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.
