Water drains slowly from newly-installed kitchen sink and gurgles as the last drops go down the drain

My new kitchen sink and plumbing: water drains out very slowly from the sink and then gurgles as the last drops go down the drain. is this an air in the pipe problem?

Thanks for your quick response. However, I don't think that is the problem, since with the old plumbing, I didn't have that issue. It must be something to do with the new plumbing I put in.

What would cause a gurgling sound at the kitchen sink when no water is running anywhere in the house?

the waste disposal system for your house was installed by a person who was not competent to do the job and didn't make allowances for sufficient air pipes in the system or placed them on the wrong side of the traps
I would have an engineer inspect the installation to pin point the problem so that what you have doesn't occur and if it is installed contrary to plan and engineering requirements seek legal redress from the plumber that did the job

Shower and bath sink wont drain.

Bath sink will be on what is called a "wet vent" for the shower.
That means they are on the same drain.
There should be a cleanout on the sink drain below where the drain enters the wall. That would be your "last resort" access to put a snake in to break up the obstruction.
I would try using a plumbers suction plunger on the shower drain.
Show no mercy!
Cheers.

Diy plumbing

most likely that it is a old drain pipe as some plumbers used copper for that purpose. if it is a drain all u have to do is cap it. if it turns out to be a vent pipe u can install a end of the line vent cap. I cant remember what it is called but your supply store will know. just tell them u want to install a vent under the sink not through the roof.

Garbage disposal backed up water wont drain out of one side of the sink

I have seen where some houses are built with long runs of plumbing under the kitchen floor where the angle isn't the best and a garbage disposal installed under that situation is not good. Check to see how your plumbing is. Is it a fast run down near the kitchen or a long run sideways?

Flooding in both drawers of dishwasher

I suppose "flooding in both drawers of ..." implies water is not draining out. Is that right?

It is a very little information to give you any clear solutions.

Did the water get into the drawers without starting any wash program? Most likely it is the backflow from kitchen sink back through the dishwasher drain hose. Does your kitchen sink plumbing have an air gap sowehere. If so, is it clear?

If the water is the back flow then it is likely to be smelly and you do not want to run it through the dishwasher. I would suggest take the drain hose out from under the sink downpipe and drop into an empty bucket. Then take all the fixtures out from the drawers and empty out water using a small container.

Put the washer arms back and run each drawer on a short rinse cycle collecting the drain water in the bucket. If cycle runs clear, then get plumber to check the kitchen downpipe.

Reconnect drain hose.

Hope this helps.

Sewer smell in house since installing the new toliet and the toliet gurgles when the washing machine is on. It started with the new toliet now the gurgling and smell is also present in another bathroom.

It sounds like a vent problem.
On top of each house is a vent stack.
There should be a vent stack above each toilet, and above kitchen sink.
Look for pipes sticking out of roof.
These pipes are open to the sewer line.
When you run a column of water down a drain, the vent stack lets air flow in front of and behind the column of water.
This air flow prevents the gurgling sound.
The gurgling sound is the drain water pushing air in front of it because of a clogged vent.
If you have a two story house, there are vents that run between floors to prevent the air flow from gurgling or bubbling sewer air into each drain as water column moves down pipe.

Look for bird nest over vent pipe on top of house.
Run a snake down into pipe from roof and see if the is a stoppage.
You many need to call plumber to track down each vent and the cause.
For example if there are quick-vents installed inside a wall and the quick vent is no longer working.

You can also take advantage of fixya phone support.

Plumb Pak Corporation Twist & Lock sink drain will not drain

The small disk right under the strainer is adjustable and has a lock nut. You will need to try and adjust this. If it doesn't work, the I would sugest replaceing them. They aren't that expensive plus they are easy to replace. Good luck!

Water running out from under the washer

sounds like two seperate problems. firsst water running from under your machine might be a bad seal, or water could be backing up the drain line. i would guess that it is a plumbing problem because of theissue with water in the sink. have a plumber snake out the drain lines and the problem with the washer should disappear.
