Question about Acer Aspire 6930-6082 Notebook PC
How to fix operation systems not found
One of two things could have happened, either something got severely corrupted in windows and it doesn't see the boot portion of it anymore, or the hard drive may be experiencing a hardware failure. You can check the hardware with a few tools that are out there (I like SeaTools, myself, or SpinRite), to see if the hard drive is failing (or even recognized by the system). If it is, then unfortunately, your data on the drive stands a good chance of being lost for good. You can always try using an external USB enclosure to see if the drive will mount on another computer (or this one of you get the hard drive replaced), and try to retrieve your data that way. If not, then see if there is some kind of data recovery service in your area that you can take the drive to, but be forewarned that they can get quite expensive.
As for another option, if the hard drive is okay, again, the same deal applies to your data, but once you're able to retrieve data (if you're able to), you can try using Acer's built in recovery (by pressing Alt-F10 at the Acer splash screen) to restore your system back to factory specifications. If not, then you might have ot use a set of recovery disks, ones that either came with the system when you purchased it, or ones that you would have had to create using Acer's eRecovery Management software. Just remember that restoring the computer using either of these options, will erase any remaining data off of the hard drive, so be sure that you have data backups if you were able to do so, before you go through the restore process. If you don't have disks and the built-in recovery doesn't work, then you may need to either use a vanilla copy of Windows for your system (check the bottom of the computer and look for a product key so you can tell which version of Windows you have), or contact Acer to order a set of product recovery disks specifically for your model of computer.
Hope this helps you out!
