If it is flat TV, mostly the switching power supply is having the problem. If you are lucky change of Fuse may cure the problem, or else the switching IC is dead.

The red power light comes on but nothing else works on my hitachi 53FDX01B PROJECTION TV

silly question but have you tried turning it on with the remote. if a tv has been turned off by remote and then power goes, turning it on by the tv switch will put the tv back in stand-by mode and you need to use remote.

just a suggestion.

TV won't turn on power light flashes 10 times

Switch off the TV from remote, then switch off the on/off button on the TV, remove the plug pin from the power outlet. Cool off for 48 hours and then retry. If nothing works, better refer it to a qualified service technician.
