Turns on. Shows channel icon on screen but never brings channel in then shuts off on its own and turns on again by itself. What's wrong?

Is it possible a fuse is blown or the circuit board is fried? Did you use a power supple with a higher voltage then the TV needs? If so, replace the boards and the fuse, than use a correct power supply. DO NOT USE A POWER SUPPLY THAT HAS TOO HIGH VOLTAGE! Check the label on the back/side of the TV. Fine where it says "input". then take note of the voltage number. Then, check your power supply. When you look at the power label on the power supply, look at the voltage on the output part of the label. If it is higher then the input voltage on the TV, DO NOT USE THAT POWER SUPPLY! IT COULD DAMAGE THE TV! Hope I helped!

Hi, My TV has been turning off by itself and

Good day!!!!

If your TV turn ON/OFF itself without sounds..The possible problems are voltage drop on power supply,overheat/overload,loose/cold solder of power supply or bad T-con board..

If you already inspected all capacitors on the power supply and all looks fine but it doesn't mean that your power supply board works fine because sometimes bad capacitors not look like bulged or looks fine visually but the value change its either lower/higher capacitance value. In that case you need to use capacitance meter to find bad caps..But before we do that,I have a procedure to minimize/eliminate troubleshooting. In this procedure you need a multimeter tester to perform voltage data check..

In this procedure we can determine where the fault came from..

This are the steps:
  1. Open the back cover.
  2. Look at the power supply board (it is usually connected directly to power cord).

3. Find the 3 long connectors near the aluminum heat sink. Those connectors having voltage marks on each pins so you can easily determine where did you get the voltage..

4. Point the black test probe to GND (ground) and the other probe (red) to 5vdc,12vdc/15vdc,24vdc..Let me know if you find any voltage drop or voltage lost..

5. If all voltages are works fine..The possible problem is on T-con/logic board or main board..But in that case the common problems is on T-con board I found it online $34..

Hope it helps..Just keep on touch to fix your TV and works fine again..

Chester Pendilton.

I have a Sony Bravia 32" LCD tv...my query is that if the tv will be suitable in 110voltage plug or we should change it to 220 volt?

try to check first the voltage requirements at the back of your tv it is printed there, but most of the tv models specially the lcd it is auto volts.

LG plasma screen TV working fine last night. This morning to all intents and purposes the TV is dead. The power light is on but no picture or sound. Tried switching everything off at mains, no change....

if you want to fix the problem it needs trouble shooting and of course a digital multi meter. first you need to open the back cover, and then before you trouble just look the components first at the power supply, control board or at Y and Z sustain board if their are, burnt parts, blown fuse and also capacitor with bulged and leak on top of its casing.it will help you a lot to determine the exact problem.then your next step disconnect load side connector of the power supply to discharge excessive load voltage, then try connect all the connectors again and turn on the power, check output voltage at the power supply according to its label.then check all the supply going to Y and Z sustain board also observe if their is a indicator light at the control board.

New phone. Bought it on sale at Frys. The salesperon loaded the Micro SD 16GB class 10 chip and my husand loaded movies, songs, and other programs. Everything was fine. I received a email from Microsoft...

Hi mshedgehoq You need to take the micro sd card out of the phone put it into your computer and make a copy on the sdcard from your computer. Your husband did a hard reset should not have wiped out all the information. If you go to my files look for lost.dir and see if all the informationd is still in their. Now your husband didn't do anything to the phone it is thr way of all dtoids to put your information in the lost.dir ok Hit that menu and you should see all your information. The hard reset did it's job which is to wipe the phone competely out of data like brand new.

TV alternately turns off and on continuously. Rebooted receiver box. Tried unplugging everything but no change.

If the set is turning off and on it indicates a high voltage problem, I have found when the horizontal output transistor shorts it causes the same symptom, this part is located right next to the fly-back transformer mounted on a heat sink.

Magnavox 50ML8105D/17. We moved and the tv worked fine and now nothing. Just 2 red lights. Temp and Bulb. I replaced the bulb about 6 months ago. all I did was move.I carried it myself. I have checked and...

My magnavox died due to cheap capacitors on power supply board, a common problem for magnavox tv's from wot i found on net!
I replaced a 2200uf 10v electrolytic capacitor and it works now:)
My tv would take a few atempts to turn on and finally would not turn on,light stayed red!
i recommend visually checking for bulging or blown capacitors on power board, if it all looks good, try warming the board with a hair dryer, this might be just enough to get it to fire up, so at least u know the prob is in that area.
I looked for a 2200uf capacitor near the low voltage output from board n replaced it, got lucky first one, I was expecting to replace all the low voltage electrolytic capacitors.

10 year old Curtis Mathis shut off

If you can do repairing, here's the tips...removed the back cover of the unit...check the POwer Supply section...start with the fuse to Bridge rectifier to Voltage regulator...check if it has Output voltage...usually 115 Volts DC...just until here for now...good luck!

Continuous blinking yellow power light, tv won't turn on. Toshiba 46xv645u. The formatting it terrible, I tried to fix it I can't I'm sorry. I power cycled my tv through my surge protector by accident. Now it does this strange thing and doesn't turn on. I thought it may be the firmware, so I updated it with a correctly formatted USB drive and firmware from Toshiba's website. Now when I plug it in, this is what it does. Plug tv into wall. The power indicator will blink green 3 times. This blinking will repeat for 3 more times as well. So 3 sets of 3 blinks. blink-blink-blink----blink-blink-blink---blink-blink-blink. The Power indicator will then turn solid green, and the tv boots up into the classic hazy black and white screen for about .5 sec before going black Then it will come back to the previous hazy picture after about 1 full second, but this time the TOSHIBA light will turn on as well. The screen goes black again after .5 second, the TOSHIBA light remains on but this time the power indicator has turned YELLOW and blinks continuously in no pattern that I can tell. Just ON/Off/ON/OFF/ON/OFF. The TV will remain in this state indefinitely until I manually unplug it or turn it off. If I hold the power button it will turn off then turn itself back on and just repeat the whole process again. What could be the issue? I belive it is the power supply. Or is it firmware and I did it wrong? I think I did it right because when the TV died it was on HMDI 1. When the screen comes on those two times I can see it's on HDMI 1. But once I did the firmware update it now shows the classic hazy black and white screen. So the TV definitely has been reset. Please tell me it's the power supply because that's an easy repair that a electrical engineer I know can do. I've heard something about a Seine board? Hopefully that's not it.
