Question about Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router

Linksys router got reset, not password protected now

My Iphone 4s wouldn't pick up my wireless, never had a problem before, thought that maybe I needed to reset the Linksys, so I did, didn't seem to help, so I reset my Cisco Analg Telephone Adapter (Hues Net phone service and internet) the internet to the home pc is fine, and a tablet picks up the service fine, but not the Iphone, it'll connect and then lose connection...also never a problem with staying connected to my wireless. I recieved this Linksys used and have had it for about a year or so...it came with just the unit, no disc r info, I actually had to contact the prvious owner for the password....doesnt seem like it needs a password now, whch I would like one. Should I just go get another router...this one is kinda old, but worked for me. thank you for your time.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If your router's internet light is red it means to say that there's no connection. You really have to call Tesco.

SOURCE: Need to add Linksys WRT54G-TM wireless router with Linksys SPA 2102 phone adapter

your SPA2102-R seems to have one ethernet connection and one internet connection.
your WRT54G-TM seems to have one internet connection and 4 ethernet connections.

What you are trying to achive is; plug a ethernet cable into the ethernet connection on your SPA2102-R then plug the other end into the internet port of the WRT54G-TM

hope this helps, I have assumed that you intend to use a DSL broadband supplier not ADSL.

if you are changing service from DSL to ADSL then your WRT54G-TM needs to be first in line configured and working. then plug the internet port from the SPA2102-R into any of the WRT54G-TM ethernet ports.

SOURCE: keep losing internet connection on the desktop

First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings

Windows XP
1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath
3. Click Support
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Note these down and set these values on your PC by doing the following:-

Start --> Control Panel --> Network Connections --> right click on Local Area Connection --> click Properties
In the small middle box scroll down to Internet Protocol TCP/IP
and click to highlight
Click properties button and enter the values
Click OK
Click Close or OK

2 other things can also stop your wireless connection from dropping:-

Change the Channel transmitted in Wireless Settings
Defrag your hard disk

SOURCE: my linksys wrt54g v8 will not recognize the internet

Try to do a hard reset on the router. Hold down the button on the back of the router for 10 seconds. This will clear all of the settings out of its memory. Then try to connect again. If this doesnt work power down both your router and your cable modem. Let them sit for a minute and then plug in the modem and wait 30 seconds. THen plug in the Wireless router. The issue should resolve itself.

SOURCE: LInksys wrt160n v2 wireless router not connecting to internet

Most cable companies will only allow 1 active device at a time conneceted to the cable modem. When ever you change what is connected to the cable modem you must always cycle the power/reset your cable modem.

When you are reseting the units, always rset the cable modem first, wait until it boots back up then reset the router. If that doesn't fix the poblem then it may be a configuration problem.

I forgot to ask if you are cable or DSL.

Hope this helps

My LINKSYS as for password, it is locked

Press and hold the reset button of the Linksys router using a pointed object (like a paper clip or pen) for 30 seconds.

The reset button is located in the back of the Linksys router closest to an Ethernet port.

The button is recessed to protect you from accidentally resetting the modem.

Unplug the Linksys router while pressing the reset button.

Shut down your computer for one minute.

Plug the Linksys router back into the wall outlet.

Reboot your computer.

Open your web browser to access a website.

Type the below in the address bar if you want to reset your password:

http://192.168.1.1

A prompt from the site will request a user name and password.

The user name stays blank, or, in some models, is "admin".

Navigate to the security tab. Input your new password to protect unauthorized access to your router

hope this helps

I need to unlock my router

Do laptops pick up the wireless signal and connect to your router? If not maybe you don't have the router configured for wireless.

If other devices such as laptops pick up the wireless router signal then there is no need to go into the router changing things because if you do, the things that work now, might not work.

Can your ipad see the wireless router (SSID) as one of the networks within range? If so, maybe you put the password in wrong. The password is case sensitive (caps and small letters must be exact or it will never connect).
