Question about Heating & Cooling
On that problem I would first turn off the power source to the unit. Check the Capacitor, thermostat, windings between all the 3 terminals on the compressor. And then see if any terminal on the compressor shows a short of the winding to the outer housing. There are so many other possibilities, because I don't see your make or model, so this is a suggestion for the solution. Thanks, Sea Breeze.
