SOURCE: change battery in GICT390 3 button remote

If its a lighter grey colored intellicode remote: There should be a small slot on the side of the remote. Use a coin such as a dime or a penny, stick it in the slot and twist. The remote should split in half and you'll see the coin-shaped battery. After you replace the battery, you can snap the 2 pieces of the remote back together.

If its a dark grey/black intellicode remote: The back cover should partially flip open to reveal the battery. This remote takes a 12volt N-size battery.

If its a keypad remote you are referring to: The bottom half of the keypad's face should slide straight down to reveal the battery (you should see and arrow and some thumb grips). All Genie keypads take 9volt batteries.

SOURCE: how do you replace the battery in the genie garage

Never could get mine to work...turns out this model only works with Genie garage door openers manufactured in certain years, and mine wasn't one of those years. Bought a GIT model from a Genie garage door installer, and no more problems!

SOURCE: Can the battery in the Genie GICT-1BL remote be

The battery can be changed. There is a divet on the side of the unit. Insert a flat screw driver and pop it apart. There is a number on the battery. I believe it is 2032. The number on the battery cannot be switched although other ones look like it. Thanks BB

What is the battery size for a genie garage door remote opener model gict390

The GICT390-1 (one button remote) and the GICT390-3 (three button remote) both use a 2032 coin cell battery.

The manual for the GICT390-3 is available from Genie on their Programming Accessories page: http://www.geniecompany.com/garage-door-openers/programming_accessories.aspx . Call the number on this link to the company which it seems does not offer owner manuals online--if you have the manual it will have battery replacement instructions and type of battery used.

I have the gict390 - 1 button--- it used to work on my garage - doesn't anymore. Wife's remote still works. Tried reprogramming - didn't work. The led on it still works & haven't had it that long...

My remote stopped working and the light still came on as well. Replaced the battery and it's working again. Try the battery. Tip: when I took the shell apart, I had to take the circuit board completely out of both halves of the shell to get to the battery.
