Question about LG Flatron 563LE 15.1" LCD Monitor
When it's turned on, the light on my monitor blinks but the screen doesn't display anything. Why might this be
Some monitors blink 2 different collers and that means that their is no video signal and some monitors will blink real fast. This is caused by a power cap going bad.If this is happening you need to take appart the monitor and look for a power cap that has stuff leaking out of it or one that has a loose connection to the board or one that is bubeling on the top the power cap.The top of the power cap should be extremly flat.(here is the problem their could be a bad power cap and it might not be showing any signs of going bad). You will need to replace the cap.You can go to radio shack or fry's and they will usually have the parts for cheep. You will need to know the voltage and the pecofarrets. The voltage and the pecofarrets are usually listed on the cap.For example 350 voltage and Fu 4.5 (Fu standing for pecofarrets). You will need to remove the old power caps by applying heat with a soder gun to the under side of the board.Make sure you know which prong on the power cap is positive and which is negitive as the cap is polarity concious.(usually on the doard under the cap it will say + or -.The longest prong on the new cap will be positive).Once you have identified the bad cap or just replaced and removed them all you will need to use a soder gun and soder to atach the new power caps to the board. After sodering cut any acess langth of the prongs off and reasemble the monitor. Now hopfully the monitor works.

One of 2 possibilities come to mind.
1, The vga chord is loose on the back of the monitor.
2, Your resolution is set too high or low to be displayed.
The blinking light means that the monitor is either not getting or understanding a signal.
Hope this helps.
