Connecting a sony dvp-sr500h dvd player to sanyo tv. using the red, yellow, white cables that came with the sony player get me no picture, no sound. do I need additional cables? the menu on the tv screen...

Here is the quick start guide
https://docs.sony.com/release//DVPSR500H_qs_EN_FR_ES.pdf

You seem to be using the Video & Audio connection. Start at the Player. Connect cables to YELLOW Video, RED Right Audio WHITE Left Audio Then go to TV and find the YELLOW input RED input and WHITE input. On some TV's they are separate, some combine them with the COMPONENT inputs (Component is 5 cables you will use 3 of them if you only have COMPONENT inputs)
Some TV's have an input button on the remote but no on screen selection. Try pressing the input repeatedly to access the other inputs. Lastly you will not get upscaling if you are using the 3 cable hook-up. To get upscaling use an HDMI cable to connect. Be sure to not have both types of cables plugged in at the same time HDMI by itself is best. If you reply with the modelof the sanyo TV I'll try to get you more info.

Trying to hook up a dvd and wii with direct tv and can"t get sound out of wii! HELP Can you show me where to plug cords in?

Your TV has two sets of AV inputs. One on the side and one at the back. The Wii has a 3RCA cable ( Yellow / Red & White ) . Connect these jacks to the corresponding color sockets on the side input of your TV. Select that input on the TV and your Wii sound and picture should come on.
For the DVD player you have to get a 5 RCA component cable. This cable will have 5 colored jacks, connect the White & Red to the Audio in of the TV and then connect the Red/Blue/Green jacks to the component video input of the TV.Do the same at the DVD's end also. Setect that source on the TV and you should hear the DVD sound and picture.bobhifi_31.jpg

Connect to tv

On the back of the laptop there will be a small round connector. This is s-video out. To connect the picture to your tv you just need a s-video cable. Most tv's now have s-video inputs. Just plug into the laptop and the tv , then turn the tv input to s-video (if needed) and you should be seeing your laptop display. To get sound to the tv you need to buy a few more parts to get the sound out of your headphone jack and then put it into the rca sound in jacks on the tv.

We use this setup to watch videos and such at home it works pretty good.

Connection using Component video No Video

1-Locate the audio/video input jacks AND the component input jacks on the TV.
Inputs are typically located on the back of the TV, but occasionally are on the sides, top, or bottom. They may also be located behind a hidden panel or door in the television.
Look for inputs marked Audio and Video IN.
Do NOT connect the system to anything marked OUT.
2-Connect the rectangular plug of the Component Video Cable into the Digital AV Out port on the back of the Wii console.
3-Connect the Component Video Cable to the television as follows. (Note that the Red and White audio cables are bound together with a black band labeled "audio.")
4-If you do not have a TV/Video button, then the input could be labeled something different. Some common input selects to look for on the TV or remote are: Input, Input Select, EXT, AUX, AV, or a channel such as 00 or 99.

How to program the autio vidio inputs for zenith tv

Hi cathie
If you have sound it means that the tv is in aux/video mode.
Now make sure that the video output of the vcr is connected to the same aux/video input that has the sound connected to. i.e input 1 or 2 .
Also you want to try and switch with another cable to make sure that the cable you are using now is o.k.
Another way to try the tv input would be to connect something else in that input(cable box ,dvd ,video game etc,)
Try it and let me know.

VGA and Audio cables connected to PC but no audio through TV

if your tv has vga input there should be a "line in" input very near it. VGA can only get its audio source through a "line in" connecting to the coaxial audio inputs will apply the music stream to a different video input on your tv. your tv has video 1, video 2, vga, and so on, but the vga cannot show video and then audio from the video/audio coaxial inputs. you will need something like a dual male tipped 3.5mm audio connector.

KP-53HS10 Real HD

On this TV there is only one input for any HD resolution. Input # 5 is the component input i.e. red/green/blue cable. Just get the correct cable and match colors from cable box to TV this will allow the TV to display 1080i resolution ( only one this TV supports ). FYI you will also have to connect the red and white cables to the appropriate inputs to get any sound because red/green/blue connectors are just for video display not sound. Once your connected you'll be able to access video # 5 be sure to set your cable box to 1080i resolution also. I hope this helps later J.

Different sound to picture

When connecting VCR to TV. Verify all connections. First if the connection is with coaxial cable make sure you signal from outside is screwed to the cable input on VCR. Then the VCR/TV output has the cable running to TV input. If hooking up with RCA cables , which is the yellow, red, and white cables. Hook one side up to VCR output. Yellow for Video, while red/white to audio output matching the colors. The same is done to the Television input. yellow for video, red/white for audio. Do a test recording. Use a blank tape, not one already recorded on. Record about 5 minutes Stop recording , rewind and playback. You should see the difference.
