The pictures that I am taking look great when I snap the picture, but come out blurry. This has happened in both ultra-lit outdoor pics and low light indoor pics. At least half of all of my pictures are out of focus. I am not rushing these pics. In most of the ones I took today, 5/8/09, the subjects were standing still. The pictures that ARE in focus are very soft - not what I expect with so many pixels.
Try pressing the shutter button half way to let it focus before you shoot. You also may want to make sure the camera is in auto mode and not set to any particular setting.

If the LCD image is blurry all the time there could be an issue with the screen itself. If it only gets blurry just before you take the photo it's just doing a quick focus before the photo is taken and you're seeing that happen.
brettg12, Open up the WebCam Central Software and click settings. Once there choose to "Restore Defaults" to see if that will resolve the issue you are having with blurry pictures.Thank You, Dell-Jesse L Dell Social Media and Communitie

There is a chances of lens guide pin disturbed or damaged & thats why continues failure. Its mean he inform you there is a system error. So please visit the service center for repair that. Its a very common & repairable problem. Thanks
blurry pictures often comes from the slightest movement when the pictures is snapped. Don;t know if that is your problem or not try a photo tripod and see if that helps or check your trouble shooting area of your amnual. if you don't have the manual go to this site for any type of manual:::: http://tv.manualsonline.com/search.html?q=vr+5940&submit.x=35&submit.y=14
Its due to slow shutter speed setting. If you want to take moving object picture, set high speed shutter, there would an icon of golf stick that is for moving object pictures.
This is a menu setting, in capture mode it is the slow synchro option I think. What it does is try to get the subject to have a lit background. Turn this off and you get a subject lit with flash and no background but no blurriness either.
Blurry images can be caused by any or all of the following:
* Distance/Focus range -- the Fun! Digital 320 has a fixed focus range of 3 - 6 feet (1.8 meters) for brightly lit indoor photography, 3 ft. (1 meter) - infinity for outdoor photography. For best results, make sure that the camera is at least 3 feet away from the subject(s) when taking pictures.
* Camera/Subject movement -- This is a common cause of blurriness, especially in low-light situations (see Lighting below). Hold the camera as steadily as possible while taking a photo, or use a tripod (a tripod mount is located on the bottom of the camera). Avoid subjects that are in motion.
* Insufficient lighting -- the Fun! Digital 320 is designed for taking photos outdoors or in brightly lit environments. Inadequate lighting can exaggerate camera movement and contribute to blurred, "muddied," or uncrisp images.
* Lens condition -- Check the lens periodically for smudges. If necessary, wipe the lens clean with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use cleaning solutions or chemically treated tissues.
* Enlarging images using software -- otherwise normal digital images can appear to become blurry and/or blotchy when over-enlarged in software. To see an image's "true" appearance, use the software's Zoom In or Zoom Out feature to view it at 100%.
You're both right. The pictures are blurry because the shutter speed is too slow, but it's too slow because there isn't enough light for it to be faster.
Try this:
Set the ISO to 800
Set the camera at shutter priority mode, and enter 1/160 for wide angle to mid-zoom, and 1/400 for full zoom.
If the pictures come out too dark ( and you're too far to use the flash ), you can always brighten them on the computer. But if they're blurry, you can't really fix that.
I appreciate your response. I have tried this with no success.
