SOURCE: gas pak intertherm - heat

it is not the thermostat. the fan you hear is likely the vent fan which will run continuosly if there is a problem with ignition. this is to give you an audible signal that something is wrong

Hi, did he bypass the high limit to see if it was bad? Sounds like you are getting false codes and you have a problem in your module or main board, which ever you have. The way it is acting, saying the high limit is open but the tech says its not, I would change the board.

I changed battery and pressed ACL but remote is not working

check the infrared led on the remote by holding the lens of a camera phone to it like taking a picture. press any key on the remote. if the remote is fine you should see the led flash when pressing the keys , if not then the remote would probably be faulty.
if you see the led flash then it would more than likely be the evaporator remote pickup that is faulty and needs to be replaced

I have a Carrier Infinity 96 gas furnace with no heat

That means that the furnace is throwing a code to trouble shoot whats wrong. Most of the time, furnaces will have a code list on the inside of the door cover to explain what each code means, some of them don't. Its hard to say what it could be without knowing where to start. However, answering a few questions with someone knowledgeable over the phone if possible could help speed things up, but it would involve you being at the furnace and seeing what happens before it throws the code. If you do have a code list, this would help tremendously.

Sony vaio has stopped booting up screen remains black

do it only if u r a professional..

assuming that the system bios has not been flashed or updated in a wrong way..if so, u gotta replace the m/b, itz a permanent failure..(though there r some exceptions)..

well to b on safe hand..do the following:..
1) unplug mains supply..pick open/remove the cmos battery..check (above +3v)..resit..
2) see if the ram(s) is loose/faulty..open clean/remove carbon & or oxide formed on the teeth with an eraser n resit it..
3) check for ac main supply, battery [in case of laptop] and fuse..
4) open the chassis or cabinet, clear dust neatly..
5) check all the outputs of smps viz. 0v (black~ground); +12v (yellow); +5v (red, green~ps-on, violet~pg & grey~sb); -12v (blue); -5v(white); +3.3v(orange)..if faulty try repairing or replacing the power supply with a standby n see..[skip this step in case of laptop]..
6) check for the cpu fan is rotating and the cpu generating heat..try replacing the cpu with a standby (if no heat is generated)..
7) open the CPU Heat-Sink with fan out of the socket..put some "Heat Sink Compound" (available in local electronics chip level spare market) between the cpu/processor and the CPU Heat Sink *** fan..resit/fit it tightly in position..
8) there may b a chance for m/b's crystal clock generator to b faulty..try repairing or replacing the m/b with a standby..
9) there may b also problem with ur monitor or dispaly unit, try replacing with a standby..[check the ccfl/inverter circuit/lcd in case of lcd(s) or laptop]..
10) try replacing/installing a substitute Display Adapter/Card..[or fit to VGA Out port, in case of laptop]..
