This also works for the Panasonic PT-61LCX65. You hold the volume button down on the projection display, then hold down the Split/ DVD button on the remote control at the same time. I just did it after reading the advice posted. Thank you!
Press the power button to turn the unit on.
While pressing the Vol-(volume down) button on the projection display,
hold down the PIP button on the remote control at the same time for more
than 5 seconds. When the reset procedure is complete the following message
will appear on the screen. "Lamp time was reset to 0".
Thank You,

That's it !!!! jpkesq you are the man!! (or woman- don't mean to be presumptuous) the PIP button on my remote is the same as the split / play button. (I don't have a pip button) It worked beautifully just as you said. I had to hold both buttons simultaneously for about 10-20 sec's. I have been trying to fix this for about 3 months. Panasonic screwed up big by not including this little instruction in their manual- what dopes!
thanx a million jp!

I had changed my light bulb 3 months ago and did not reset the lamp at that time as I didn't know about it. I bought the light bulb from E-bay at around $110. The first lamp I had lasted a little over 3 years and it finally blew and now I got a red light and a message that my lamp needed to be replaced. I know all I need to do is to reset my counter. My picture is clear and not anywhere dark and I know my bulb is good. I tried to reset the counter by pushing the down volume and at the same time pushing the split button. I do not have the PIP button. I alos would like to know how one gets the data to come up about the bulb. My TV is the panasonic PT-50LC14. Thank you
I have already replaced lamp
