Yes there are replaceable batteries but if yours is only 6 months old and was new this should not be the problem. That said, batteries only have a certain lifespan from the date of manufacture. If it sat on a shelf for a long time before it was sold the battery could be junk.

Is the tone continuous? If so this is the overload alarm.

SOURCE: I bought replacement batteries for APC XS900

Measure the voltages of the replacement batteries with a Voltmeter - are they lower than its' full charge? Allow them to charge before you connect any load to the UPS. It might take several hours before they fully charge. Occasionally measure the batteries in circuit to see if they are charging - you will need a Voltmeter again.

APC 1100 pro UPS - last two sets of batteries failed: hot and swollen failed within few years. Overcharging? Is there a fix? These batteries last in different applications for 5-7 years.

What you need to do is connect a Voltage Meter across the two terminals to monitor the VOLTAGE coming from the Charger portion and pushing power into the battery at a 'trickle' current(usually 20 to 1000mA). The battery is designed for 400-600 cycles of discharge, where the unit is on standby and runs till the battery is at 25% State-of-Charge.

If the battery is drained lower than 25-30% SOC, then it may never recover, and fail prematurely.

The idea of the UPS is to save the system files, and do an orderly shutdown. Not to continue with war-of-worlds until the lights come back on. (I am teasing about the first-person video game).

So, see if the voltages going into the battery are about 13.5 volts to 13.75 , if they are higher, then the main unit needs to be re-calibrated for the battery size.

Apc xs800 new batteries

I Bought two RBC32's and had to hook them up to the connector and did it wrong on the first try. Make sure you connect the yellow to the Red terminal on one battery and the Black on the other, then connet the remaining red to red on one and black to black to the other. Once I did that and plugged it back in everything worked fine.

We have a APC Smart UPS 2200XL. We had a power failure last night and now all six lights in the front (AVR Trim, On Line, AVR boost, Overload, On Battery, and replace battery) are flashing at the same...

Hello,

The light pattern indicates the batteries need to be replaced. The typical life of UPS batteries is 2.5 years, after this time the cells will not hold the proper charge. When your power when off last night the UPS would have tried to switch to battery power but it most likely failed after just a few minutes as the batteries shorted. The UPS has a protection circuit that prevents it from starting up properly with dead batteries so you get the flashing lights and the unit shuts off. The batteries are available in most cities from car battery dealers, not like Wal-mart but battery only dealers, just look in the yellow pages for batteries. You can take the old batteries out of the unit by removing the front panel and unscrewing the metal plate just behind the front cover. The old batteries are connected with a wiring harness that plugs in. Just bring the old batteries to the dealer so they can get you the correct replacement part. The new ones should be less than $100 so it is well worth the price compared to a new unit.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

If your furnace lights and the gas stays on for 8 to 10 seconds, then shuts right back off, then you need to clean your flame sensor with light sand paper or steel wool. You might need a new flame sensor, but most of the time they can be cleaned an will work well after cleaning.

The 'ON BATTERY' light goes on every so often and the unit beeps. Very annoying as this is not an overload so I want it silent.

Hello.

There might be several reasons for this:

1) Malfunction of your UPS' circuit
2) Damaged wire cord
3) The power on your wall socket fails too often
4) Most likely the batteries are exhausted. See the UPS' manual about batteries replacement.

Good luck

APC Back-UPS ES 350 - when powered on has a blinking green light Is this normal

A blinking green light is likely an indication that the internal battery is nearing the end of its usable life cycle. If it's over 3 years old this is likely the case. To test, plug something in to the battery outlets and pull the plug of the UPS from the wall. If you get a short runtime (or none at all) it's the battery. Batteries are under $20 and can be found here: http://www.batteryinternational.com/apc-backups-es-be350u-ups-battery-ups-batteries-f1.html

Turn it off and unplug it from the wall.
Open it up and make sure that the red and black wires are connected.
If they are the battery needs to be replaced. They are only good for 2-3 years. If you are not comfortable with my instructions, call APC for free support. (800) 555-2725

Beep and yellow green light problem

It sounds like you may need a new battery. The batteries are continuously tested by the UPS and it could be that the voltage is passing one test, and failing the next which is resulting in the light flashing. You can test the battery with a voltmeter. It should read over 11.5 volts, if not you need a new battery set. You can get batteries from http://www.batteryinternational.com/ups-batteries-apc-batteries.html
