The compressor comes on and everything and the fan comes on, but it won't blow cold air. The compressor also gets extremely hot. Can it be recharged? If so how is that done?

On my 2004 duo therm rv roof a/c,I turn it on and to listen to it, everything seems fine. But it`s not cooling properly.I have changed the filter, went on roof, removed cover, motor and fan are working...

on the compressor two pipes normaly one must be very cool .and other pipe very hot this means compressor is ok
if not cooling that much means low charge of freon need repair first the leak then recharge with freon.

Duo Therm rooftop A/C turns on then off within 5 minutes

Hello,

It does sound like it is low on refrigerant gas (R-22). Everything else makes sense. I cannot tell if your's has service ports, but that isn't really an issue. They make bolt on ports just in case they're ever needed, and install them a lot when servicing refrigerators. Any service shop can install them, if necessary.

Have duo therm

Hi, You are getting low on refrigerant. The A/C cranks up, vaporizes all of the refrigerant available to it and the compressor shuts down. The fan continues to run.
