Voltage rating difference

My wife bought me a TT9340 4-slice toaster as a present on the internet but alas was sent from Canada without details as to the varying voltage rating. We are 240v here in Australia and the unit is 120v. Step-down transformers are in the region of $500 and so far it has already cost us $255 can we exchange for a working correct voltage rating model? No reply as yet from Krups and the service rep here was blatant in their refusal to seek alternatives as it appears the toaster isn't sold in Australian stores. Help...............

I have an old Dualit Vario 3 Slices toaster. It has not been serviced for many years and needs a thorough inspection. Is there anywhere in Adelaide, South Australia, where this can be done?

I haven't been in Adelaide since 1988. Until you find a place to service it, try this. Unplug the toaster, turn it upside down over the sink or a sheet of newspaper, shake it a little bit to get rid of crumbs. Do this about 3 times or until no more particles come out. It is best not to stick anything inside except slices of bread. Good on ya. I hope your weather is beautiful, we are at -11 degrees Celsius tonight here in Canada. P.S. I low the pink Galahs.

Hi. my wife bought a dualit toaster online and had it sent to australia. ios it compatible? what can i do to make it compatible. bought through myhabit

All you need is to match the voltage and frequencies. So you need to check if the toaster is 220'240V and 50hz. If not it is better to sale it back on ebay and buy the same model with above voltage. In order to make it compatible you will need a transformer and the cost for the transformers is depends on the watt and for 2000W it will cost 120-140 $

I just bought this kenmore 2 slice toaster and the toast lever won't stay down!?

Make sure it is set dark enough. Some toasters will not stay down if they are set too light.

I bought my toaster in New Zealand without its a box but neither did I receive any instruction booklet all its details or to know what the buttons on the side are for. Neither did I receive a form for the...

All I needed was a printable copy from the web of the instruction leaflet that goes in the box with the toaster when you buy one. I fixed my problem WHEN I SAW I HAD TO PAY to ask a question!!!!!

I'll have a look in the shops when I see a toaster here.

Thanks, but no thanks

Only toast one side of the bread

The other side that isn't toasting has an open element. Usually, the good side will burn twice as hot, and may have stressed that element. You might want to replace both in that slot. make sure you check the voltage rating plate. 208 and 240 volt toasters use different elements.
I just posted the procedure to replace elements, in a similar post here.
