Try this:

Restore Point:



Try tapping F8 at startup, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter.



Try a System Restore once there, to pick a Restore Point before your problem..



Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > pick a different time > Next > etc

If Restore does not work and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a Bootable Repair Disk to do a Startup Repair:



Download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Startup Repair Disk from it.



Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.



At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.



When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.

Why is my all in one computer freezing? It will boot up fine, but after it's on a while it will freeze up, it seems to do it during no activity.


sound like thermal issue or failing hard drive
if it has any built in diagnostic program I would run that at least on the hard drive

The Gateway website lists Win 7 drivers for the 64-bit OS. Are you trying to load a 32-bit OS instead? That's the only issue I could see being a problem here.

Pay attention to steps 6 & 7

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Hi Jon Denver, you did not specify that you are talking about user account password or administrator account password. In both cases you can use password recovery software to reset Windows password. Just bought Gateway ZX4951-33e and cannot get wireless keyboard or mouse to work.


click start control panel keyboard hardware then properties you should see driver details,you will have options to update driver,roll back driver,uninstall
make sure the lead is good and has a secure connection diconnect the keyboard then reconnect it then reinstall the driver(if applicable)
make sure the usb device is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
hope this helps
as for the mouse
make sure the lead has a secure seating if applicable or the usb device
make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons,pointers,pointer options also hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot or
select properties under driver you will have the options to update driver,rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot the device

boot to the Windows DVD, select the option to REPAIR, If this is only a software issue, that should resolve.
If it doesn't then run diags on the HDD is it may be failing
