We turned the unit sideways, used a coat hanger and got the sock out by turning the unit on and off several times. Cant say exactly how it ended up coming out but for the pooking around, but it did. All is well, sock removed, Dyson working just as it did before.

Hi Cooper, it's Jack at Dyson.

If a sock has become caught between the wall of the clear bin and the shroud, this is simple to access and remove. With the bin base open as if you were emptying the machine, press the catch on the cyclone pack to remove the clear bin for easier access.

I hope this helps, but if you'd like any further advice, please give our experts a call directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Sock stuck

About the only other place it could be so in the tube in the power nozzles which can be removed. Take off the bottom plate to access this area.

Sock stuck in hose midway. Unable to getit out with wire or brrom handle. Is there a way to take hose apart at either end.

If the sock is midway, taking either or both ends apart won't help. Take it to a vacuum repair shop and ask them to try to unplug it. You may need to buy a new hose.
