Question about Valumax 5600SXT 30k Water Softner
There is a loud squealing noise coming from the softener control valve area when starting the washer or flushing a toilet, If you flush two toilets at once the noise changes to hammering.
I would start by flushing every tap at your house to remove air. It sounds like there is air in your system. Maybe bypass the softner to achieve more flow to remove the air.

The unit may be in a regeneration cycle during the day. Reset to proper time of day.
It also sounds like you may need an air arestor installed on the plumbing in the house. When air becomes trapped in the plumbing lines it can cause the plumbing to "hammer" during periods of heavy usage. You would need to contact a plumber for proper placement of this device on your plumbing system.

If there is DIRT/SEDIMENT coming through system then you have a bigger problem. Well problems! Bypass the softener and run water into white bucket to see if it is coming from well. If so keep unit bypassed and call well man. The call Culligan to rebed softener.
