Question about Garden

1 Answer

I cant find the manual to my huskee 27 in. snowblower, and the blower is currently buried under about 18 inches of snow and a tarp, so i cant readily get at the model #. all i need is refresher on how to start the thing. i only used it once, it is about 3 yrs old, just had a going over by the repair guy just for good measure because i saw some oil stain... he said it is in good shape and works good. it is not a rider.so we just got hit with a huge storm, NW pennsylvania, and i want to FINALLY USE THE DARN THING (i had broken vertebraes and other broken stuff after i got it so i never tried to use it after that first time!). i cannot find a manual online!! any suggestions??

it is electric, scuze my ignorance. and it is NOT a rider. well i am just a 70 year old farmhouse hermit lady, what do i know? but with my severe spine and joint issues, i figure it is more economical energy-wise to try and get the refresher first and THEN do the digging. because who is to say i will be able to get the manual even with the model#? that was the point of my request, because i already had tried finding the manual without the model#. i thought maybe you more clever folks might know tricks to find the manual, or something that i had not tried. i figured it was worth a try to ASK. but looks like i oughta stop intruding into communications of the "in" crowd here (those who already know the in's and out's of these machines and everything to do with them), and not vex you further with questions you cannot answer any better than i could. i did not intend to irritate anyone. at any rate, thanks for your reply and taking the time. everyone have a great turkey day!

You didn't irritate anyone, but we need to know what we're looking for a manual for, does that make sense? There are just too many different types of them out there, and some of them start differently. For instance, yours might just need the turn of a key, or it might need to be primed and a rope pulled to start it. We don't know, we can't see it from here. I'm sorry you seem to be offended, but I'm pretty sure the manual is online somewhere but we need to know what we're looking for. You have a wonderful holiday as well. Maybe afterwards, you may find the time to tell us what tour mower is, so we can look for your manual.

It's difficult to tell you how to start "the thing" if we don't even know whether it's an electric start or a pull start, like a lawnmower. The model would be of great use. I would suggest you dig it out first, then worry about how to start it.

SOURCE: snowblower will not throw snow

Hi,

If you take your time and remove the worm drive, carefully, then the order of installation is reverse for getting it back together. Remember to take your time and keep your cool and put all the parts back. If you have left over parts you did something wrong.

Also your local library may have the manual for your machine. Good luck

SOURCE: Electric starter won't work on snowblower, replaced it once

If this is a briggs & Stratton engine no the starters are easy to get and replace usually just 2 bolts hold them in. Depending on how long ago you replaced the last one I would check out the system for problems before I installed a new one as starters usually last for yrs. Things that would ruin a starter are excessive heat or power staying on the starter after startup as this would cause excessive wear. Hope This Helps Don

Swisher 27" snowblower front impellers turn free

Hi Craig,

Most snowblowers incorporate "shear pins" between the motor and auger. A shear pin looks similar to a nut and bolt or pin that couples the drive to the auger - but it designed to break or shear off to prevent damage to the auger or motor in the event of a jam or overload. They look like these:

Only the shear pin recommended for your particular brand and model snowblower should be used. Under no circumstances should a regular bolt or other steel pin be used instead of a shear pin. Check your manual or consult with Swisher to determine the correct shear pin for your snow blower.

I hope this helps & good luck!
