Djm 700 crackling through all channels

Hi, I have a Pioneer DJM700 and recently have been getting a sharp crackling noise through the speakers when I adjust the pan on all channels (or even if I just put a small amount of pressure and push down on them). I occasionally get the same from the master, the tone controls and channel fader as well. I know this could be a build up of dirt on the pots, but the fact that it happens on all channels makes me doubt this. I've tried deoxidizing the channels by repeatedly turning the pots up and down with the power off, but nothing. So I thought it could be a power issue in my flat, but I've tried plugging it into different sources, and nothing (I still haven't tried it outside my flat though). I've moved here recently and didn't have the problem in my last place. The mixer is about 4 years old. Any help massively appreciated!

There is a contact cleaner spray available at most stereo, tech stores, that may assist you with your dilemma. The pots or potentiometers are dusty. You could even just use air also to clean them out better. Just some advice hope it helps..

That sounds like you could have some dust built-up on your sliders. Get yourself some dust repellant spray or silicone spray normally found at you nearest computer store. That will definately sort your problem

It currently has a 2 pin plug going into a 3 pin plug for the power? Getting lots of shocks and am thinking of cutting off the 2 pin to allow me to wire up a brand new 3 pin plug.

A 2 pin plug is standard on a double insulated product. If you cut this plug off, you will probably find there is no earth wire to connect anyway, so a 3 pin plug is not going to help. If you are getting shocks of it, I would suggest there is something dangerously wrong with your equipment. Get it checked before the next boot you get of it is your last!

How to connect my qqualizer to my djm pioneer 400 mixer

Use the stereo master outs from the DJM into the A and B Inputs of the EQ (you'll need 2 phono to Jack or 2 phono to XLR cables) then from the A and B Outputs of the EQ to the power amp/ speakers, etc (you'll need jack or XLR cables depending on what is powereing your speakers)

Pioneer DJM-400 mixer turns on, but channels aren't working

could be a few things , what have you tried to trouble shoot the problem ?
My steps would be ;
check all leads (even if you KNOW u pluged them in)
check the gain is set corectly .
check the line phono slectors are set to what ever you have you leads pluged into on the back of the mixer ( there is 4 red and white RCA plugs , 2 for phono,2 for line CDJs shold be using line )
if you are using digital cables to conect your CDJs , on the back on the mixer there is a small switch marked "CD or digital" make sure that is sleceted "digital " . if ur not using digital cables make sure it is on "CD" .
the info iv put here is based on the DJM-800 so your mixer my not have some of these featers as iv never used a 400 . hope this helps dued . check out www.djtutor.com for more tricks and tips . Pratices'N'enjoy !

Get yourself a manual. It will help you. You can DOWNLOAD A FREE COPY of the PIONEER DJM600 INSTRUCTION MANUAL from HERE.

Now, you have to use the CUE button function on each channel to select what you want to hear when you cue things in the headphones. Last, you control the volume of the master cue in the headphones using the CUE volume of the headphone CUE section.
