Video card replacement in older computer.

I want to upgrade (replace) the video card in my HP m7067c computer with a video card with onboard (discrete) memory. What criteria (besides a PCI card) do I need to look for to make sure it is compatibile?

Onboard graphics controller not functioning. I need part # for replacement PCI VGA Video card. Thank you, ...

You don't have enough information for anyone to help you we need your PC brand and model number but based on your problem I would check the Bios sometimes you have to turn your onboard graphics controller on also some older computers have a jumper setting on the mother board for this and it wont work if you have another pci video card installed so uninstall any pci video cards you have inside the computer

Video card upgrading issues

Once the Video card is inserted the motherboard, it automatically selects the video card and at the BIOS settings just select the one with an AGP selection, then boot up the computer. Install the driver that comes with the video card. It might also ask you to restart... just select Ok then its done.

In your laptop the video chip is an onboard one, it cannot be upgraded. See here

Best video card upgrade for Gateway GT4024???? Stock computer....except ram upgrade to 2x1gb....want to increase the video handling from the slow onboard video

Your upgrade options for a better video card are really dependent on how much you want to spend.  You have a PCI express x16 slot which is what your are going to use.  Visit www.newegg.com and you can look up video cards by manufacturer, memory amount, and even filter it by how much you are willing to spend.  Here's a link at newegg for "the best video card upgrade":
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161203

Since there is a newer PCI 2.0 Express connection on newer computers, you can get your video cards cheaper now.  You will notice a huge improvement with any video card you choose since onboard video is about the worst.  Just remember to go into the device manager and disable onboard video card after you install the new video card.
Good Luck

How do you get better color for your computer?

You need an upgrade to your video card. If the video is onboard, then you can add an above board card.

Problem with an deskpro pci graphic card

  1. with this age of computer it is still quite possible that the motherboard itself has a jumper that needs to be properly arranged to disable the onboard video.

Video card for the gateway 507gr

Yes, your computer specifically supports:

PCI Express 16x and
PCI Express 1x

The 16x is the long one and the 1x is the reallly short one. Most likely the card that you get will fit the big slot. Be careful not to upgrade too high though, because if you do you may have to upgrade your power supply as well. Ask someone at gateway or a local shop for a recommended card for your system.

Flashing Green Light on mx705 monitor

If the HP has onboard video but you have an add-on video card, remove the add-on and connect the monitor to the onboard vid. If it works you have a bad add-on video card. If it doesn't or you are already running on on-board video hook the mx705 up to a compatible HP. The older PB may be TOO old to handle it or not hve the correct drivers.
