You may get new electrics at Repairclinic.com, but you still have to find out why they blew. Get the parts and call a repairman.

Karcher electric pressure washer help starting

The test / reset buttons are for a Ground Fault Interrupter built into the cord / washer. This device will help prevent deadly electric shock in the event of a malfunction - it is the same technology used in "GFI" electrical outlets located in bathrooms, outdoors, basements, etc.

You should have this serviced - or replaced before using.

Good luck!

Motor burn out even though no disruption to water supply.

if there was water going through pump when motor has cooked then it may have been an electrical problem. it may have been your power supply or ext. lead. or the capacitor blew.
motors can burn out if left on and the trigger not being squeezed.

Not working at all. my washer was on working and i heard a big bang and my electrics went off, i turned everything back on and the washer started up again but then stopped and now will not work. when...

Hello,

The ticking that you hear is probably the timing motor for the dial.

Was the "bang" from outside the house? If so, then a transformer probably blew and hit your house with a power surge. Motor is likely damaged, and will need replacement.

If the bang was inside the house, the capacitor on the motor probably blew (unusual failure mode though), and will need to be replaced, motor is likely damaged as well.

Started washer, heard 'pop', water started coming out of bottom

Thats not good. Sounds like the seal blew out. Inside the unit there are seals that seal up the parts where they are bolted together. Also there is the pressure connection that could have blown out as well. To determine which is the problem you will need to dissassemble it.

Worked well, then blew the fuse.

What you should do next is stop using an extension lead. As you've already discovered, there's a risk of the connection getting wet, which is potentially very dangerous, but this is probably not the main problem. Most extension leads (the normal domestic type) are simply not capable of carrying the current needed to run your pressure washer.
Rather than using an electrical extension, use an extension high-pressure hose and work further away from the machine (which also makes it easier to keep the machine dry).
If this doesn't sort the problem, please post here again and we'll try something else.  Good luck!
