Not Drying We have a Kenmore HE3 Dryer. The dryer runs perfectly, but doesn't dry clothes as properly as it should. Does anyone have a recommendation?

I have the Kenmore He3 dryer and it seems to take forever to dry clothes.  It does heat up, but have to run several cycles to get items dry.  I have tried small loads and larger loads and have the same problem.  Thanks for your help!

Had the same issue with my Whirpool. If the clothes are getting hot but not drying then there might be a build up of lint in the exhaust duct and/or passage. Once I replaced the the duct and ran a snake with a brush through the passage (my dryer was on 1st floor, vent ran up to 2nd) and cleaned out the lint build up in filter area it worked like new. Also keep in mind if you use dryer sheets they will leave an invisible residue on your lint filter thus restricting airflow. This can lead to the heating element burning out. The lint filter should periodically be scrubbed with a soft brush (an old toothbrush will do) under warm water with detergent (I use Dawn). This should keep the airflow moving through the dryer instead of keeping it in the drum. Hope this helps.

Have an HE3 Kenmore elite gas dryer. It is taking longer to dry the clothes than it did when it was new. Is there any maintenance I can do to improve the time?

If your dryer is STILL heating, but your clothes still won't dry, you may want to check the dryer interior cabinet and/or the entire run of the exhaust ducting from where it exits your dryer to the point where it leaves your home to ensure you have no kinks or clogs. The following link explains many of the common problems that can cause poor drying efficiency and longer dry times:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

Before assuming you have a problem with the appliance, check your installation to ensure you are providing the dryer with proper exhaust and air flow. This is the NUMBER ONE cause of poor drying efficiency. A dryer in a clogged state or having improper air flow will not dry efficiently and will cause the heating circuits to overheat. Eventually, this can lead to component failures and is the source of many fire hazards. If you have any questions, please post back with a complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Kenmore elite he3 takes wat to long to dry cloths

If your dryer is STILL heating, but you are experiencing longer dry times and/or poor drying efficiency, the following link can give you some things to check before you assume there is a malfunction with your dryer:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

The number one cause of dryer heat related problems is poor exhaust ventilation. If not vented properly, a dryer will not dry efficiently, will actually take longer than required to dry, and will cause the heating circuits to overheat to the point of failure. The dryer will actually seem hotter than usual in many cases as the heating circuits begin to overheat. This is also the source of many fire hazards if not resolved. Read through the link provided and review some of the potential causes.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information is helpful.

NOTE: If you thoroughly check everything and still have problems let me know. The problem could be related to a thermostat failure.

HE3 dryer stops drying with code E1

Hi, how are ya?

The E1 is a thermistor problem. It's a little black fuse that's next to the thermal fuse on the duct housing.

It's pretty easy to fix. You need to take the bottom pannel off and then the black blower housing.

Good luck :)

Felt 'washer' coming out of front of kenmore he3 dryer. dryer is not drying clothes. 2-4 cycles for a small load

Typically the problem you are having is caused by lint in the vent pipe or a partial blockage where the dryer vent ends out doors. pull out the dryer, remove the vent pipe and check it all out. then go out doors and check from that end

Dries clothes but runs too long & clothes VERY hot

Fixable and possibly a warranty claim. The timer is bad. You will need to get behind the control panel and remove the timer and replace the timer. First I would call whoever it is that yall bought the dryer through and see how long your warranty is. Most of the warranties are only 1 year. But if you bought a extended warranty then you are covered. The part can be found at repairclinic.com

Kenmore Electric HE3 dryer not drying

Please click on the following link for advice on a dryer no heat problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r630242-dryer_runs_but_not_heat

Please read through the link thoroughly. Check the power source at the outlet, first, to ensure you have the proper voltage prior to disassembling the dryer. It should read 220-240 VAC across the two hot leads (this would be the RED and BLACK terminals at the terminal block in the back of the dryer if you choose to check there). Then, inspect your ducting to make sure its not clogged or kinked anywhere. If you have questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.
